A/N: I just want to say before reading this chapter, I've never actually written something... dark or violent, I guess? This next chapter's going to be (maybe?) really depressing (I think some of you already know why). I just wanted to say real fast to brace yourselves for either poorly-written pain or some epic mind-scarring depression! (or something in between, I dunno.) Also M/N stands for 'Mom's Name.'
I was at the airport with Ness, waiting for my parents. The day had finally arrived where I would see my parent's faces again, and the waiting was killing me.
"Wh-what if they haven't forgiven me?!" I asked Vanessa, "And when they come, they aren't excited at all?! They'll see I'm working at the Pizzaplex and be disappointed that I went to college so I could work at the creepy pizza mall! Ness, we should go! Or-or call Jeremy! He's been with them forever, so they'll have to trust me! Yeah! Let's g-"
"Y/N! Listen to yourself! Just go talk to them!"
"Yeah, but-"
"They. Are. Right. There," Vanessa pointed to my left (her right), and I practically broke my neck with the speed I turned it.
Before my head could even figure out what my body was doing, I was halfway to them.
"Mom! Dad!" I screamed, running at top speed to my parents with open arms. "Oh my goodness, I'm so glad y'all are here!"
"Y/N!" my dad exclaimed, lifting me clean off my feet in a giant bear-hug, "Oh, my little girl..."
"N/N, it's been so long!" mom said, joining the hug.
Finally.
It had been so long since I'd been in my parents' arms. I'd almost forgotten what it felt like; how it made me feel.
"I've missed you guys so much," I said, my voice muffled slightly by my dad's shoulder.
"N/N..." my mom said, her voice shaky, "We've missed you too!"
I let go, "Oh my gosh! I-I thought you guys would still be mad at me or something! Disappointed, even! C-cuz I'm living in an apartment with Vanessa, and I work at Freddy's Mega Pizzaplex, and-"
Mom put her hands on both sides of my head, "No, no... We're so proud, Y/N! And happy for you! You've made a life here! You've got a home, friends, a job... No grand-kids for me, but we'll just see about that."
Dad nudged her, "You're doing better than we ever could've hoped, sweetie."
I sniffed and wiped my eyes, which had started tearing up at some point. I was so happy!
"R-really?"
He nodded, "Of course."
I got a good look at both of them. They looked exactly the same as when I'd... uh... left them. Their hair was graying, and I could see creases and wrinkles in their skin. Other than that... they looked just like the parents I'd left nine years earlier.
I hugged them again, "I'm so happy to see you guys!"
"That makes three of us," my dad chuckled.
Vanessa walked up and waved nervously, "Hey... I'm not sure if you remember me-"
"Ness!" my mom exclaimed, pulling her into the hug, "Of course we remember you! Have you been taking care of Y/N like you said you would?"
