JIMIN POV

He Sitting in my chair at the station, I could see most of
what was going on in the not-
so-huge room.

Jih and two other guys were
here right now.

One typing up a report, Jih looking bored out of his mind because we didn't have a new hot tip yet, which at the end
of the day was okay by me.

I kept glancing up from the papers on my desk to check
and see if Tae and Ari, hobi's mother had arrived yet.

It had been nearly two weeks since we got the confession out of Miguel and in that time we
had moved closer to nailing Mr. Lee Jiwoo to the wall where he belonged and where, I was determined, he would stay.

I was excited to tell hobi's
family the news since I hadn't been able to get ahold of him myself yet.

It worried me, the fact that hobi still hadn't returned my calls.

I would have been genuinely concerned for his well-being, except that Jungkook seemed
to think he was safe at least.

I was worried hobi would never talk to me again but as Jungkook had told me the night everything had fallen apart, hobi wasn't
the type to hold grudges.

Here it was though, two
weeks later and he still hadn't even picked up his phone.

I had considered asking to borrow Jungkook's phone to
call him, certain that he
would pick up for Jungkook.

No one could ever get mad at Jungkook but so far I hadn't.

Jungkook had told me to give hobi space, that he would
come back on his own.

I was going to believe in Jungkook until I was given a reason not to.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a flash of movement and
I turned to watch as Tae and
Ari greeted our secretary,
Lisa, by the front doors.

They all turned to look at me
at the same time and I smiled and waved, putting aside my personal concerns and returning to my professional demeanor.

Ari gave me a hug when she
got to me and I gave a good
one right back to her.

Tae gave me a grim smile
and stuck out his hand.

His grip was a little on the
rough side when we shook.

I didn't bother with pleasantries because none of this was any thing we wanted to be dealing with.

I ushered Ari and Tae back
down a short hallway into the conference room next to the sheriff's office, the big dog got private workspace and gestured them to the seats closest to
the door.

I considered leaning against the wall, rather than sitting on the other side of the wide table but
it felt too much like I was hovering when I did that, especially since these were
my friends.

I forced myself onto the other side of the table.

I wasn't their friend right now,
I was a detective.

"Ari as I'm sure you know by now, we were able to get a confession out of the man we were holding on suspicion of Young's death. He has been arrested, processed and his
court date has been set."

I held back a smile seeing the relief beginning to appear on Ari's face, It felt damned amazing to be able to give
her good news for once.

I wished I could do this more often.

Of course, no judicial victory could bring her husband back
but this could help her put the whole nightmare behind her.

At least I hoped that was the case, for all of them.
