I get patched up in a hospital room. It's only been an hour since the hole 'rush.' My before bloodied face is now covered in bandages. I need to check on Ji. I wonder how her back is doing. Okay, I must admit that I do care for Jihye a bit.
Just a bit. (🧢)
I walk out of my room, once the nurses say I'm good to go.That man sure did a number of my face, but I'm still standing. I walk across the hall straight to her room and knock. I hear a "come in!" and I walk inside. I see Ji with her back exposed and a nurse is still tying her back with a bandage across her torso. Another nurse comes in. "Do you need help? You've been at it for a while." He says. "No....urgh....I got....Hrnn..it!" The female nurse says. She finally wraps the dang thing and pushes Ji's shirt down. "There we go! See? I can do it!" The nurse then walked out with the male nurse.
Now it was only Ji and I. "Hey." She says to break the silence. "Y'know, Chae didn't die. She's going to prison. Everyone else in that gang died though." I nod.
"I'm sorry."
She's says it so out of the blue, my eyes widen. She looks at me. "I should've believed you about Chae. Things could've ended better.." To lighten the mood I add something. "Aw, the almighty Jihye is apologizing to me?"
"Shut up." She then looked away, her face red. I laugh. "Hey, it's fine." I place a hand on her shoulder. We'd be bickering by now. I'm surprised. "Your and my parents are going to sue the school apparently. Even though it wasn't even their fault, heh." She says. I nod.
"My father had a last minute meeting, so he couldn't pick me up and forgot. What about your parents?" She asks once again. Our eyes meet for a brief moment. "My mom must've forgotten as well." I say finally. She stands up. "What if it was fate?" She asks. "The fact that we met I mean." I look at her surprised. "Ah, never mind it's kinda stupid." She looks away.
"No, it must've been." I say with a smile. She smiles back. I feel my cheeks burn for some reason. We just stand there, inches a part. What is this feeling? I feel happy. I no longer want to die. Has Ji put me under some spell?
"So hey, want to do that again?" I ask as a joke.
Ji looks up at me.
"Hell yeah."
