Tally

As soon as we walk into my bedroom, he unties his sneakers and sets it on the floor near the wall before joining me in bed. I wanted to have sex with him so bad, but did he want to? Did he enjoy it the first time?

"So baby, tell me what happened." I sighed and allowed him to wrap his arms around me as I moved closer to him.

"When I got home this morning, Jess's bags were at the door, and she told me that she wanted a fresh start without me in the picture and that I chose you over her and..."

He raised his eyebrows and scowled. "Is that true?"

"No. She just didn't like me seeing you, but I can make my own decisions."

He nodded and I wasn't sure if he believed me or not. "I confronted her about it, and it clearly pissed her off and what hurt the most is that she admitted she never liked me anyways."

"Oh, baby. I'm so sorry."

"It is what it is, Ryder. She's always been overprotective, but the best thing I did for her was to call the cops on her ex."

"You did what?"

"He hit her in front of me and I wanted to kill the son of a bitch."

"You?"

"I hated the asshole to begin with and it pissed her off even though I did it to protect her."

"I don't see you as a person to do something like that."

I shrugged. "If he hit her, why can't I?"

"D-did he ever hit you?"

"Hell no. But she surprisingly wasn't mad at me. It was more like relief, I guess. I don't know, then she offered for me to live with her as a way of saying thank you. I felt like I was interfering, but she insisted for me to move in with her."

"Which made you two closer?"

"Yes. I thought we were friends for the longest time until she showed her true colors, so I had to cut the ties."

"You tried your best, Tally and that's all that matters in my opinion."

"I know. I basically didn't have anywhere to go since my parents and I had a blowout fight when I turned eighteen, so I left and basically was homeless for a year until Jess came into the picture."

"I'm so sorry."

"I have my own place now and that's all that matters."

"Even without a roommate?"

"Yeah, but I have you." Shit, did I just say that out loud?!

He seemed shocked then a small smile formed on his face. "Yes, you do. I'm here for you no matter what, Tally."

"Can I ask you something?"

"Of course, you can."

"I... well... I don't know how many other women you've had a relationship like this with, but did you ever get... emotionally attached I guess?"

He shook his head. "Never. As much as I wanted to, no. I didn't allow myself to."

Oh God... I can't tell him what I'm thinking. "Why do you ask?"

"I was umm... just wondering."

"Tally... talk to me. What's on your mind?"

"Nothing."

"Are you afraid of becoming emotionally attracted to me?"

I looked away, unable to make eye contact with him. "I know that's what you're worried about, Tally. But you know we can't."

"I... yeah."

"How about I get that off of your mind with a round two?"

"Okay."

As he slid inside me, my mind was racing with so many thoughts that I couldn't handle. I wanted Ryder so badly, but I knew I couldn't.
