Selene approached the figure cautiously. The aura of charm and seductivity around the Slytherin Prefect felt fake - forced.

She was weary. The group of people Tom Riddle was friends with were known to be licentious. They had a predilection towards those of 'pure' blood, steering Cleer of muggleborns.

For the most part the pallid girl avoided the coterie of pureblooded boys. She didn't appreciate the idea of being associated with them. But here, tonight, the Slytherin Prefect looked rather alluring  as Selene noted the absence of a date.

"Beautiful evening isn't it?" Selene made no attempt to answer. Staring at both ends of the corridor, awaiting Julian.

"Waiting for your date? If he doesn't show I'm sure you could find someone else willing to escort you", he sent her a wink straitening out his own wholely black suit.

Irai merely nodded. And to not come off as rude, asked briskly "Are you waiting on Antares Black?"

" Ahh, so you've been tracking my dates have you Miss Irai. Why jealous?" Riddled simpered charmingly.

"Of her or of you?" The rhetorical question sounded with a teasing lilt. A small smile graced Selene's, replacing her previously emotionless facade.

Tom raised his brow, his smirk ever-present, at her response. Simultaneously, both their dates had arrived. Antares' eyes flickered between both their faces as she stepped through the portrait: weren't they on tense terms?

Julian finally made his way over to Selene placing a hand on her back, "Allways a pleasure to meet you Riddle. If you don't mind I'll be stealing Miss Irai from you now."

Tom nodded in acknowledgement as the Ravenclaw ushered his date away smoothly.

"I thought you said she had been disrespectful towards you?" The young Black questioned, inquisitive.

"It is none of your concern. Now, we must make our way over to Slughorn's dinner before we're late" Tom shot back, his jaw slightly clenched.

"As if he'd care if his favourite student's late"

Tom stopped paying attention to his follower's words as they began the walk. His mind focused solely on his inchoate plan; it was still rather amorphous.

Author's note:

I'm so sorry this took so long to update, I've been so busy with my studies.

And some chapters I find rather hard to write. Especially ones with Tom's thoughts or parts where he talks as I need time to think over his responses.

I hope you enjoyed please vote and comment<3
