DIAGNOSIS: In LOVE

"May appointment ako sa OB ko at 11am, Gerald—"

"No— I called your doctor and had it moved later this afternoon. After my shift today, susunduin na kita. I'll come with you."

"Ano? Pero—"

"Sige na, I'll go ahead."

The day after naming malaman na buntis si Bianca, our HR called me na I can go back to work. At least after a doom's day, comes a new beginning. Hindi man ako babalik sa position ko, at least babalik ako sa profession na mahal ko.

I parked my SUV saka dumiretso sa hospital lobby. I saw familiar faces who greeted me and they told me na masaya sila na nakabalik na ako.

Our staff from Surgery department welcomes me. They are all happy to see me. Including Marco who's very happy to see me.

"Pare— welcome back!"

"Thank you! I am so thankful na pinabalik na ko. Kundi malamang, I'll be drinking at home."

We went inside my office. I took off my coat and hang it on the back of my swivel chair.

"How's Bianca?"

I sighed saka naupo na rin sa tapat ni Marco.

"Alam mo na?"

"Yeah. She literally texted everyone that she's pregnant with your baby."

"The same Bianca."

"I'm completely lost, Pare— I thought you and Sarah? Pero paano mo nabuntis si Biancs?"

"The night when I told her na maghiwalay na kami, we had sex. It should be a break-up sex as what others do, but the following day, I was surprised na— na hindi na pala siya nagte-take ng pills. That's the only time we did it. I can't believe na I got her pregnant."

"The fuck, Pare— What have you done!?"

"I know. Its all my fault. That One time only and boom! She's now pregnant with MY BABY."

"How does Sarah take all these?"

"I don't know, Pare— I'm sure she's hurting and furious. Before naming malaman na buntis si Bianca, nagusap kami. Wala siyang nagawa. Inabangan ko siya sa VIP parking all the way to her Penthouse. Pinakinggan niya ako. I told her the whole truth. Lahat nang nangyari. But she refused na makipagbalikan sakin. Kaya alam kong wala nang pagasang mangyari ulit yun."

"You are right. Nung nalaman niya ngang may girlfriend ka, she backs off, ngayon pa kaya na magkakaanak na kayo ni Bianca."

"Exactly. Alam mo yung feeling na half of me is dead? Yun ang nararamdaman ko ngayon. Kanina nga, when I was at the lobby,  inaabangan ko siya, makita ko man lng siya sa malayo, okay na ko. Hindi ko kayang magpakita sa kanya. Wala na kong mukhang maihaharap sa kanya."

"That's impossible, Pare— She's in Cebu—"

I looked at my friend na halata tin ang lungkot para sa akin.

"And She's with Sam."
