Holding onto secrets, some she'd soon rather forget.
But regret, and tragedy hold like red wine on a white dress.
Holding onto secrets, some she'd soon rather forget.
But regret, and tragedy hold like red wine on a white dress.

The wine keeps pouring just to hold off all the demons.
Dancing with burden, that she can never be free.
Late nights in the black lights, a thousand rising suns.
Wake up to a headache, just couldn't let it be.

Each hangover reminds her of the heavy weight of depression.
Blur it out in a smokey haze, just to get through the days.
Late night out drinking, cure it with a morning session.
Too heavy to hold, so she hides in her toxic haze.

Holding onto secrets, some she'd soon rather forget.
But regret, and tragedy hold like red wine on a white dress.
Holding onto secrets, some she'd soon rather forget.
But regret, and tragedy hold like red wine on a white dress.

Before it all comes grumbling down. How long will this all last?
Lost control in the past, and it keeps bleeding into the present.
Memories imprinted, she can't scrub off her haunting past.
Tears stained on the events she just couldn't prevent.

Outside she's silent, but inside a little girl shouts.
It's too late, she's closed the door, not ready to function.
Another weekend to binge out, another poisonous blackout.
Serotonin overload, so high in the clouds in her self destruction.

Holding onto secrets, some she'd soon rather forget.
But regret, and tragedy hold like red wine on a white dress.
Holding onto secrets, some she'd soon rather forget.
But regret, and tragedy hold like red wine on a white dress.

Author's Note:
Many people struggle with mental health and addiction. Very often they go hand in hand. It starts off harmless, and then in a blink of an eye the person is drowning in it. It's hard for that person going through it, and the loved ones surrounding them. It's hard to pull someone out of addiction. I have a few poems dedicated to addiction and mental health in this book.
