Kion walked back to everyone. They were still fighting Zira, and Kaz's army. He groaned with anger and annoyance. He roared them away, but he didn't use his full roar and they were only blown away just past the mountain pass.
His family and friends stared at him. Kion just sat down angrily. "You ok Kion?" Kiara asked. Kion just grumbled and looked away.
Nirmala noticed Rani crying.

She walked over to her, "What's wrong Rani?" "Nothing. I'm fine. Let's just get the paint back on my head," Rani wiped away her tears.
"Ok," Nirmala went back inside the tree and grabbed the ceremonial paint.
Rani stood on the crowning rock. She looked at Kion with saddnes in her eyes. Kion just growled at her. Rani knew she had hurt his feelings. "We can't be together. He has the Pridelands, I have the Tree Of Life. As soon as Zira, Kaz, and her army are defeated, he will just leave. There is no point in being his mate."
Nirmala placed the paint back on Rani's head.
Kion watched in pure anger. He wanted Rani as his mate, but she chose her kingdom over him.
But then again, he understood. She needed her kingdom to be safe, and having a mate could distract her from that.
Rani jumped off the crowning rock. Kion walked up to her, "Rani?" "Oh, um...h-hi Kion," Rani stampered. "Look Rani, I understand you can't be with me. Your kingdom is more important," Kion looked down sadly.
"Thank you for understanding Kion, but I've given it some thought, maybe we can be mates. I just have to find time for you, and my kingdom," Rani smiled.
"Really!" Kion looked up. Rani nodded, "I'll give us a chance, if you will." "I think you already know the answer to that," Kion smirked. He pulled her closer.
"RANI! KION!" Baliyo ran up. "Baliyo?" Rani got out of Kion's grasp. "It's Zira, Kaz! And the army! They're back!" Baliyo shouted.
Kion smirked at Rani, "Ready to kick some dragon tail?"

Rani smiled, "As long as you're by my side." "Stop!" Baliyo shouted, "They are attacking! We need to stop them!" Kion and Rani nodded, "Let's go!"
