" Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. "
These words are spoken from John, but originally come from God.
John is saying that since God has loved every single one of us, we should love each other and try to be like God as much as possible. Of course, nobody can or will ever come close to being exactly like God, but we should try our best to follow in His example. Being kind and going out of your way to help others is a perfect example of showing love to each other. Let us all continue treating people how we want to be treated.
