CHAPTER SIX
Althea knew one thing very well from a young age, to not get her nose into someone else's business. Her father was perpendicular about her respecting the privacy of others— his privacy.
As a man who was involved almost every day with the ministry's business, he had many of his colleagues in their estate. They were usually locked up in his father's office talking for hours and hours that sometimes the clock would strike midnight and none of them would there to be seen.
It was known that the government was taking drastic measures against Grindelwald's attacks on all four points of the horizon. Her father, as well as her mother, worked at the Ministry and were known opponents of Grindelwald's movement. It didn't seem strange to her that her mother was murdered after that attack on the Ministry. Her parents were at the top of their hit list, which is why they were hiding and didn't make public appearances so often.
She couldn't understand why the world worked this way, why there always had to be a maniac who wanted the whole world at his feet. Perhaps human nature was like that, the tendency to want others to catch up and become the predators rather than the prey. But then again, in recent years, both the wizarding world and the muggle world were shaken by wars. Two world wars had taken place in the last thirty years, leaving only sorrow, pain, and ruins behind.
