girls date

Who am I to stay with him? Why did I feel like my body was bound to his?

I can't escape from him?! Did he throw a spell on me?

Manelle, don't make assumptions magic doesn't exist.

"Manelle."

He's a red flag, such a dangerous person for me, but fate paired me with him. Can I change my fate?

"Manelle!" A voice took me out of my thoughts, I turned to Maria who smiled as she offered me a part of the lemon cake that we baked before the picnic. We were currently sitting on a red napkin, the beach looked perfect as we watched the sunset with my sister, Maria and... her mother.

"Halsey, let's go play by the water!" Maria took my little sister's hand and dragged her away from us, there wasn't any wind, which probably felt great. I looked at her mother who was bumped due to her daughter ignoring her.

"I'm sorry if my son forced you to plan this picnic, I just wanted to bond with my daughter." She apologized which hurt my heart, I did understand her and it wasn't her fault if Ria was murdered brutally by her husband since she threatened her.

"It's okay, Serena. I understand." I gave her a little smile and she responded the same way, our eyes directed to the two girls who were playing happily as they chased the flow of the water.

"You know, I'm glad that Roman found a sweet girl who will stay beside him for the rest of his life." I widened my eyes as she revealed this, I wanted to tell her the truth about us. I wanted to tell her that we were in a contractual relationship, there is no...love between us.

Words didn't leave my mouth, I stayed silent as she kept talking about how sweet and gentle her son is. How he saved her from the dangers of the mafia.

"Serena, I—"

A ringtone interrupted my words, she excused herself and answered the phone.

"Amore mio, cosa c'è che non va?" She asked the caller in a foreign language, I need to learn that language because Roman uses it often to speak with anyone who speaks the language except me and Matteo.

"Torneremo presto, ciao amore mio." She hung up the phone and put it back inside her lovely purse.

"We need to go back, it's past our time limit."

Limit?

"What limit?" I asked her as she cleaned the napkin.

"Well, the madame in the mafia are often imposed on time limits such as going outside. I don't really protest against that since the thoughts behind is to protect me." She smiled and called the girls to return quickly toward the car. I was baffled, those women get time limits such as going outside, their movements are totally restricted.

I turned toward the left where five men, wearing black military clothes fully equipped with guns, are watching us. I clenched my fists in anger, deception that women are imposed to have limits in what they enjoy in this kind of life.

"Shall we leave?" Serena stated, holding a hand for me to stand up. I took her hand and stood up, wiping the sands off my clothes, then headed to follow them.
