Cross had enough of Nightmare's bad deal ever since he met him in his empty AU. He was frustrated with him and he was been fooled by Nightmare for more than 4 years of being part of the Bad Sanses was for nothing to him. In fact, Nightmare was using him as a boy toy instead of a friend.

To put it more worst, Nightmare said to him that he had high hopes for Cross, but all the king of fear see him as trash, a broken toy that cannot be fix. Even Cross had been loyal to since he arrived, Nightmare chose Killer instead because he's been more loyalty and obedient than anyone in the gang.

So why would Nightmare picked Killer instead of him? Is Cross isn't satisfied enough for the king? Perhaps, all Cross did for Nightmare was actually nothing, he instantly regretted for joining him, and more worst falling in love with that being b🖤stard.

X-Chara had been stayed on his side seeing Cross in pain and killing himself internally, the boy decided to whispered to him and tell him to quit this job of hell. It wasn't useful to them for returning back to their AU. Cross listened to X-Chara's whispered and he would agreed with him this once because he cannot handle another years of obeying and torture by Nightmare again.

Before he could leave, Cross wrote a note on Nightmare's desk in his office. He wrote an apologize and reasonably why he quiet with a sh🖤t talk about Nightmare too. He left the castle at night through the window and ran away from the Bad Sanses.

He learned how to travel AU to AU thanks to the book he stole from the library before the AU got destroyed by Error, and that is where the time he met Dream.

Dream was shocked to see Cross was in front of him and prepared his daggers for a fight, however seeing him raise both of his hands up showing him no weapon or want to fight, Dream put his daggers away and asked. "Cross, what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to work with my brother?"

"I... I gave up. Helping Nightmare isn't making me bringing me back to my old AUs. For  4 years working with that b🖤stard, I decided to leave his pathetic gang." Cross blushed in embarrassment before looking away from Dream. "Perhaps, I could join your team?"

Dream's mouth slightly open in surprise at Cross's joining him, but instead of smile, he paste a sad on his face. "Our team had been disbanded for three weeks because of a little problem with Ink and Blue. I don't what the two had been fighting of, they've been friends for so many years before me, and now because of the conflict they had, all of us had to disbanded."

Cross was shocked to hear what Dream explained as X-Chara was actually speechless at the Guardian's words. Dream continued. "I... I never wanted the three of us to separate, we've been together for many years and this is the saddest thing I've ever witnessed in my 500 years more in my life."

"Wow, I'm terribly sorry to hear that. It must be hard for you when your relationship with your only friends ended." Cross put his hand on Dream's shoulder. "But, maybe we both become a team, just you and me? Or anyone who wanted to join."
