August 5th - Sunday (Yibo's Birthday Morning)

The usual day in which he would always be laughing and playing along with his friends and family - his birthday. But this year, the day was spent with him waking up with a damp pillow, dried red eyes and a flushed face. He was sniffling every two seconds, staring up at the ceiling - when sudden memories of the night before swarmed his brain - and his tears began to form once again.

His parents have been checking up on him, leaving all his favourite food and drinks and snacks - pampering him to anything he wanted. But Yibo just couldn't stop feeling terrible. Even when he tasted his favourite dish in the whole world - which would usually make him fiddle with joy, he was just swallowing to survive.

"Ugh!"

Yibo flipped over and continued to cry into his pillow. Suddenly, the door was slammed open - and the latter flinched, abruptly breaking from his sobbing session - only to return to it, just as quick. That was until a loud voice boomed through his bedroom walls.

"Oi Wang Yibo! Pull yourself together you A*shole! Are you really crying for that girl who cheated on you?! And with your best friend??"

It was Seungyoun - I mean of course it's Seungyoun, who else but Seungyoun? He stomped over and pulled the blanket that Yibo was hiding under, only to reveal empty boxes of tissues, and used tissue papers scrawled along the pillows and the floor. Along with Yibo who was still heads-down on the pillow. Seungyoun cringed with disgust before pulling the younger by his shoulders and making him sit up.

"Are you listening to me? Oi. Oi! Snap out of it!"

Yibo finally met Seungyoun's eyes, but with a blank face. And then the tearworks started all over again. Seungyoun sighed.

"I really don't know what I did...", The younger sobbed.

"You're really asking for a punch in the face right now. Obviously it's not your fault that your ex was a wh*re-"

"DON'T TALK ABOUT LIYING LIKE THAT!", he yelled through his tears, grabbing Seungyoun's collars.

"SHE LITERALLY CHEATED ON YOU!"

And the younger one couldn't say anything back to him. So he continued to sniff and sob quietly, wrapping his arms around his knees and dipping his chin.

"hUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Seungyoun claps his ears closed, squinting his eyes at the loud noises coming from Yibo. After what seemed like ages, he finally stopped crying out loud, and searched around for a new tissue box to waste. Seungyoun scanned the room and handed him a box, which Yibo immediately ripped open and began blowing his nose into it.

"Listen. What's happened, has happened. You need to focus on what's next now."

Yibo sniffs then nods.

"Self-development."

"Revenge."

They say together, and the two of them stare at each other's response in awe. Seungyoun was the first to break it.

"SELF-DEVELOPMENT?!?!? First you get cheated on, then cry over your ex, then protect her name, and now you want 'Self-development'???"

Yibo sniffles again.

"Well.. I thought that's what every breakup led to... *Sniff*"

Seungyoun sighs, sitting in front of him, cross-legged in a more comfortable position.

"Ay, Yibo, Yibo, Yibo... Why are you this clueless? Obviously yours isn't a regular breakup. You loved her with all your life and she cheated on you with your best friend. Do you think working on yourself is going to do anything? You go back to school on Monday, she comes up and asks for forgiveness, and you'll probably just forgive her, won't you?"
