Some time passed and Kopa, Kiara, and Kion had grown a bit, yet they were still young cubs. Early one-morning Kopa and Kion tried to wake their sister who was still sleeping along with his mother and father.
KOPA: "Kiara, hey Kiara! Wake up!" he hushed to her ear
KIARA: "Huh, wha?" she said sleepily
KION: "Don't you remember big sis? We told you yesterday, we are going to the watering hole to play!"
KIARA: "So early..." she mumbled and drifted back to sleep
KOPA: "Well, I guess we should let her sleep, come on Kion lets just let Dad know what we are doing." he said quietly
KION: "Well, ok then." he replied
Kopa and Kion paced over to their father and nuzzled him awake.
KION: "Dad, dad!" he said
SIMBA: "Huh, Kion its early, go back to sleep" he mumbled as he tried to close his eyes again.
KOPA: "But dad, you promised we could go as soon as we were awake!" he pleaded.
SIMBA: *sighs* and opens his eyes again, "Fine, but remember what I told you yesterday...."
KOPA: "Yeah, yeah, stay on the path you marked" he replied.
KION: "And don't talk to strangers" he added.
SIMBA: "And stay away from the outlands", he emphasized
NALA: "Yes, it is dangerous out there" added Nala who had just woken up.
KOPA and KION: "Yes Mother, now can we go? Pleeeeese?" both said grinning widely.
SIMBA: "Very funny, and yes"
KOPA and KION: "Yay!", they exclaimed as they ran off.
SIMBA: "And remember be careful!" he called to them.
NALA: *chuckles* "They will be fine dear, now let's go back to sleep before our other one wakes up", she said as nuzzled her mate and she glanced at her sleeping daughter.
Simba and Nala went back to sleep, meanwhile, Kion and Kopa got to the watering hole which was crowded with animals.
KOPA: "There are too many animals here to play hide and seek," he said as he looked out over the plains, "Why don't we try over there?" he asked as he pointed towards a hilly and bushy area on the edge of the pride lands.
KION: "But Kopa, our dad said to not go anywhere near the outlands!" he warned.
KOPA: "But that area is in the pride lands, and besides, there are two of us! Don't you wanna play?" he argued
KION: "Fine", he replied after some thought, "But we still need to be cautious."
KOPA: "Sure, come on!" he replied as he started to walk off.
Meanwhile, Kiara was awake, as were Simba and Nala, and the princess wanted to join her brothers at the watering hole. Simba tried to give her the same lecture as he did the boys before she left, but Kiara was more interested in a butterfly.
SIMBA: Kiara are you listening? Accidents can happen. You could easily get hurt or-" he started.
KIARA: "Or stepped on, or even get lost, I know", she interrupted.
