Billy's POV

We made it. California. Oh how I've missed you.

My heart started pounding as I saw the ocean come into view

My heart started pounding as I saw the ocean come into view. My favorite place. And Josephine, she's gonna love it.

I pull over quickly and walk around to her side. I take her hand and we walk towards the beach. I smell the salty air and I feel my eyes getting wet. I honestly don't give a shit who sees.

Jo pauses as we reach the sand. Her eyes grow wide as she takes it in. "Beautiful." She breathes lightly. "It is. So are you." I say hoping she really hears me.

She turns to face me and looks deep into my eyes. "I love you, Billy." she says, squeezing my hand. "I hope that's okay." she adds bashfully.

Fuck, Jo. I lean down and kiss her lips softly. "I love you, Josephine." I say. And I mean it. I mean every word.

I watch as she walks along the edge of the water. Her toes dipping into the sand. She spins around and it's like she's in her own little world.

You know the saying 'Dance like no one's watching'?

That's Jo.

I walk towards her and she stops her twirling when she sees me

I walk towards her and she stops her twirling when she sees me. A big smile spreads across her beautiful lips and she reaches out for me.

I slip off my shoes and feel the sand between my toes. God, I missed this.

I take her hand and we walk. We walk for what feels like hours. No words. Just her hand in mine and the waves crashing on our ankles.

She hums lightly as we make our way up and down the beach. She gasps and releases my hand as she dives suddenly into the shallow water.

She holds up a small seashell. A very plain seashell. Her eyes light up.
