Not a ship.

The clouds wrapped the sun as they cried. It was a gloomy, rainy afternoon. Usually, on a day like this, people would be at their homes. Drinking a warm cup of chocolate, or smuggled in their thick blankets near the fireplace with their loved ones.

And well, that was exactly what happened with Jolyne.

As soon as she got home from school, she put down her bag at the door and went up her room. Completely ignoring her father who was in the kitchen. Jotaro had already prepared lunch for his daughter. Since she was staying at his house for the week. However, Jolyne didn't quite seem that forgiving after everything that happened to her. And Jotaro completely understood. Not like he didn't care, he just understood.

After Jolyne took a quick shower and dried herself off, she put on some thick clothes for the rest of the day. She went down to the living room and sat next to the fireplace. It seemed that her dad had lit it before.

"Jolyne? Don't you want to eat?"
Jolyne looked above her shoulder, trying to avoid eye contact with her dad. Instead, she just looked down.
"Uhm... No. Not exactly. Not, now."
She replied. Jotaro gave her a concerned look. Jolyne turned and rested, trying not to concern herself with her father.

She felt a figure behind her, it surely was him. She got annoyed, and wanted to tell him everything's fine. That she didn't want to eat. That she didn't want to see him. As she tried to speak, her father reached a warm plate of food to her. Well, Jolyne couldn't dissent with the fact that she was hungry, so she took the plate and thanked him. Jotaro sat parallel to her, and rested his hands near the fire. It surely was a chilly day.

Jolyne took a bite of what her father had cooked. It was delicious. She smiled in satisfaction as she ate another bite. And another. Jotaro was, pleased to see that his daughter liked his food. He may or may not have been smiling.

"Thanks, dad." Jolyne smiled. Jotaro took the plate of her hands and took it to the kitchen and washed it. He returned to the living room.
"So... How was school today?" He asked. Jolyne looked at her father, and took a deep breath.
"It was great. I passed yet another test. With a good grade." Chemistry is easy so yeah.
"I see. How about your friends?" Jolyne's smile faded. It was... getting kind if personal now.
"They're good." Jotaro nodded and looked at the fireplace.

Jolyne felt kind of bad. She never actually forgave her father for what he really did, but she felt kind of bad that she, his only child, was also his failed attempt on another chance for being a good person. Jolyne took a deep breath. She couldn't believe she was doing this.

Jolyne sat next to her father, resting her head on his shoulder. He was very tall, so her head rested slightly below the shoulder. She rested her eyes, feeling comfort now that she was sure that her father was on her side now. Now he could never leave.

Jotaro looked at his daughter, assuring himself that she was now next to him. And she could never leave.

He covered her in a thick, warm blanket and kissed her forehead.

"I love you dad."

"I love you too."
