Joshua: Are you sure this is a good idea, Y/N?

Y/N: No...No, I do not. But we're doing it anyway.

The silver and brick wall slowly began to pull apart once more as You, Conner, and Joshua slowly descended down the familiar stairway deep into the unknown. Conner shivered ever so slightly as a chill traveled down his spine, and he found himself unconsciously hovering close to you as all continued further and further down. The only source of light around you being that of the azure-flamed lanterns that ignited as you passed.

Conner: Y-Y/N, w-what is this place? Where are we g-going?

Y/N: We're going to a place that very few people know about, Conner. A safe haven for those who are persecuted by the people of New Dynasty and those just like them...like the people that had you for so long. It's a place where people can find protection, learn to defend themselves, and be surrounded by others who understand their struggles because of the shitty world we all live in.

As you reached the bottom of the stairway, Conner's eyes widened in awe as he took in the surroundings. The underground sanctuary was like a hidden city, bustling with life yet concealed from the world above. People of all ages, races, and backgrounds roamed the streets, going about their daily lives. The air was filled with a sense of hope and camaraderie that the city of Dynasty up above could only dream of. You gently placed a hand on his shoulder, smiling at it all.

Y/N: Conner, welcome to Century.

The name lingered in Conner's mind as he continued to take in the sight before, and you couldn't help but smile wholeheartedly at the wonder in the young boy's eyes. He could probably have never imagined such a place existed, so used to that hellish world he had known for so long and so young, but here...here, it was different. There were children playing and laughing, shops and vendors trading and selling goods of all kinds, and groups of individuals training together in combat. The place felt like a hidden oasis, untouched by the oppressive forces that dominated the world above, and the warmth and acceptance radiating from it all was almost overwhelming.

Conner: It's...it's incredible.

Y/N: I'm glad you think so, buddy. This place is special, and it's filled with good people. They've been through a lot, just like you, and they'll understand what you've been through better than anyone else.

As the three of you walked through the hidden city, people passing by smiled and nodded at you and Joshua. It was clear that both of you were well-known and at least somewhat respected there. Some of them even recognized Conner as a newcomer and gave him warm, reassuring smiles, making him feel a sense of belonging he had never known before meeting you.

Conner: They seem to like you guys here.

Joshua chuckled, hearing that, resting his hands behind his head as he walked alongside you.

Joshua: Yeah, More or less.

Y/N: Everyone down here has suffered one way or another thanks to New Dynasty, kiddo, that or by what the city up top has become, and we're all fighting the same fight in our own ways...to take it all back so it's nice to have a few friends like that on your side.
