Maddie is onto me. She was very stern about the dance, and when we began the duet she wasn't herself.
"What's up Madz?" I asked her, walking over to my sister.
She shook her head. "Nothing."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. It's just..."
"Well?"
She sighed. "Does Paige like me?"
I burst out laughing. "Of course she does! Why wouldn't she?"
"I dunno. It's just, you've been hanging around with her for the last few weeks. I was kinda wondering..."
I thought for a moment. "Yeah, but why would you care? You have Kendall."
Maddie looked glum. "I know. It used to be me and Chloe, then it became me, Paige and Chloe. We were the "3". But then things got intense, and Chloe left. Then it was me and Paige, we grew so close.."
I nodded. When Chloe returned Paige and Chloe began to drift off together. Then Maddie grew stuck until Kendall came into the picture.
"She is totally awesome, but me and Paige are still best friends..." Maddie replied. She tossed her head. "I don't know. It's hard to explain."
