💚Chapter 13💙

"Zayn Malik and Liam Payne. Meet me after class." Professor Fenty said leaving the class.

Liam and Zayn exchanged a look before silently nodding and standing up, following the professor to the staff room.

The professor put a bundle of paper on the table.

"I want you to pick out your assignments and hand it to me." She said crossing her legs.

The boys pretended to search for their assignments through the bundle of papers, pulling out their best acting performances, feigned innocence, absolute cluelessness, sheer anxiousness and pure horror making the professor believe that they in fact had no idea where their assignments had disappeared into. But according to the rules, they were to go meet the principal who would decide their fate and so they went, to the principal's room.

"I hope we don't get detention" Liam muttered under his breath, fidgeting with his fingers as they sat outside the principal's chamber, waiting for Mr. Corden to call them in.

Zayn sat extremely calmly, patiently waiting for the call as he looked around the showcases showing off the trophies and arts, displaying the talent of the students who once studied in the school and who were currently studying there.

"Mr. Malik. Mr. Payne. You can go in now." The school receptionist said before disappearing back into the doors.

"Oh God- we are doomed!" Liam said clutching his head in both of his hands.

Zayn sighed and kneeled down in front of Liam.

"Leeyum, look at me." Zayn said placing his hand on Liam's knee making Liam look at him with teary eyes.

"This is too scary, Zee. If it all goes wrong I'm gonna get kicked out of my dorm and if that happens my parents will kick me out of the house and if they kick me out of the house I'll have to spend all my savings on finding me a place to live in and if that happens I won't be able to take you out on the perfect date I have been planning all this long and we can't afford that at any cost!" Liam rambled making Zayn chuckle.

"Out of everything, not being able to take me out on a perfect date is what you're worried about?" Zayn asked making Liam realise what he had said.

"Um-I-that-" Liam stammered blushing furiously.

Zayn just chuckled and pecked Liam on the lips before standing up and offering his hand to Liam.

"Come, get up. Nothing will go wrong, don't worry" Zayn said giving Liam a reassuring smile.

Liam nodded and stood up taking Zayn's hand. Zayn gave Liam's hand a light squeeze before going in, hand in hand. They stood in front of the principal's door where Liam took deep breaths, trying to calm himself as Zayn waited patiently, mentally preparing himself for the worse of worse consequences.

"Ready?" Zayn asked and Liam nodded.

"Ready as I'll ever be!" Liam said letting out a breath.

Zayn nodded and gave Liam's hand one last squeeze before letting it go and entering inside. Liam silently followed Zayn in.

"Come, sit down." Principal Corden said, a smile on his lips as he motioned towards the chairs in front of his desk with his hands.

The boys nodded and took a seat.

"Go ahead" Mr. Corden said holding out a bowl of chocolates.

The boys exchanged a look before taking a few chocolates each and thanking the principal with a bright smile.

"You're welcome!" The principal smiled as he kept the bowl back in its original place.

"Sooo, I heard from Prof. Fenty that you had written the best works anyone has ever written. That's huge praise coming from someone like her." The principal said impressed.

"Where did your assignments disappear to all of a sudden after that?" Mr. Corden asked raising his eyebrow.

The boys shrugged feigning innocence and cluelessness. The principal looked at them in silence for a while before humming and nodding.

"Alright, you might leave. But beginning from tomorrow, you shall be joining me for your English class instead of going to your usual class." The principal said.

"So, no detention then?" Liam gasped surprised making Mr. Corden laugh.

"No. No detention." The principal shook his head making Liam smile.

The boys thanked the principal and left the room. They found Louis waiting for them by the main gate.

"So, how'd it go?" Louis questioned slightly anxious and a whole lot curious.

"The plan worked!" Zayn grinned making Louis jump in joy.

"Hell yeah!" Louis grinned widely and hugged the boys.

"I can't believe it actually worked!" Liam said surprised.

Louis frowned offended and smacked the back of Liam's head making Zayn snort.

"How dare you not trust me!" Louis said.

"How dare you hit me!" Liam frowned before smacking Louis in the head and the two began fighting and hitting each other like 5 year olds while Zayn just stood shaking his head at them.

"You sure you want him?" Niall said looking at the three of them from a distance, completely amused.

"Yeah, he's quite an interesting character. So are his friends." Harry said leaning on the wall.

"Whatever you say." Niall said and went off to meet his friends Shawn and Lewis who just came back from basketball practice.

Harry just stood and watched Louis turning into a complete child in amusement before Zayn pulled Liam and Louis out of there.
