Not being able to shift after a month or maybe even a few years can be frustrating, I get it. But that doesn't mean you should stop. Think of shifting like a skill you learn and get better at over time - it's not something you do in an instant. For me I've been trying to shift for a year now, I have mini shifted 2 times and almost shifted 10. And the thing is, I'm still learning how to do it. You didn't learn how to read and write overnight, it took years for you to do that. But now, reading and writing is a natural skill that you can do without thinking. Shifting is the same.

(Btw, you can take breaks from shifting. I mean that you shouldn't give up on it entirely.)
