Chapter 21 - How I wish I was wrong

Hey guys! I hope you have been enjoying the last few chapters and that they haven't been too confusing. And yes ik my astronomy isn't up to scratch so don't blame me if some of the stuff Zariya is saying is wrong! Also btw, since there is no mention of space and stuff in the actual series [well to my knowledge at least] I am kind of making up what they know as I go, and when I say make up I mean make up the amount of information not the actual information lol. SORRY that was a bit off track, so about this chapter. This chapter aligns with the 24th episode of season 1, in other words when they are in Stohess. Please let me know if this is all making sense and if you guys are enjoying my story so far it REALLY means a lot that each of you have clicked on this [seriously you guys don't understand how much it means to me :)] Anywho that's enough rambling on from me! The silence that spreads across the rooftops of Stohess is unsettling. All the Scouts, apart from those assigned specific roles, are waiting patiently on the roofs of the abandoned street for Eren and the others. Since we did not take the citizens of the district into account when creating the plan to expose Annie, we assigned them to wait in the alley ways with weapons of their own. We could not tell them what was actually happening so our excuse for disturbing their morning was that we were doing a mock attack, even though it is practically impossible for titans to get this far into the walls.

My ODM gear is engaged, keeping me attached to the side of the steep old roof top, I look across to Gen who does the same beside me. It's been at least 15 minutes since we have heard anything. I was surprised when Erwin had asked Gen and myself to escort Armin to where he engages with Annie. Gen had grown up here in Stohess so she knows these streets like the back of her own hand. She guided us through the clean pebble streets that are busy with well dressed people in the finest clothes I've ever seen. Stohess is very different from Shiganshina, the roads are established and the homes are well kept, but I guess this is what I should expect having grown up in the most outer regions of the walls.

I hear the quiet sound of voices coming from the street. Peering over the rooftop I see Eren with Annie and the others, this is really happening. I look across to Gen who gives me a reassuring smile, looking back at the group; Eren, Mikasa and Arnim all make their way down the entrance to the underground tunnel. When Annie stops following them as they scale the stairs my stomach drops, looking up I make eye contact with Jacob on the opposite roof.

After he accused Rosette of being the Female Titan I haven't spoken to him, he tried talking to Gen but she told him to leave her alone. Over the last few days he has been trying to act normal as if he didn't behave in the most appalling way. I am so mad at him right now, but I have to admit I miss him alot. It's like when you fight with siblings, you're so stubborn about staying mad at them but it ends up taking more effort than just forgiving them and moving on.

I look back down at Annie, praying that she follows them and this is all just one big mistake. "Annie, what's the matter? You're not afraid of dark cramped spaces or anything are you?" Eren's voice echoes through the abandoned street. "So what, so what if I am? I wouldn't expect a suicidal maniac like you to understand. You don't know it's like to be an ordinary girl filled with fear." Annie responds, defensively. I scoff making everyone surrounding me look at me with alert expressions on their faces. "Sorry!" I exclaim, making them all shush me in response. "A girl who can flip a full grown man upside down has nothing to fear from the dark. Let's move!" Eren yells again, continuing down the stairs. "No, I refuse. I'm too afraid. Above ground, I will help. Otherwise, the deal's off." She demands unmoving, this isn't good, she needs to follow them for this to work.
