8: The Oracle

We emerged on the other side to see a very injured Starscream, my spark sinking at the sight of his bleeding leg.

"Why is HE here?!" Starscream snapped, wincing.

"You didn't say come alone." I said coldly. "What information do you have?"

"Optimus doesn't remember who he is, but he is very much alive."

"Yeah, we know. Look, the actual useful information you could give us is the location of the space bridge."

"The completed one? I know where it is." I then pressed a dagger against his neck cables.

"If you lead us into a trap, I'll make you regret it." I snarled.

"Tough talk coming from a mutt." He spat back. "Disgraceful excuse of a seeker."

"Just tell us where the bridge is, and Ratchet will patch you up." I snapped, pulling away and sheathing the dagger.

"It's in an energon mine, I'll give you the cooridants." After Ratchet patched him up and Starscream gave us the coordinants, we returned to the base.

"Y/D? Are you okay?" Bumblebee chirped, my wings giving away my agitation.

"Don't worry about me." I said," Internally, I was pissed. Hybrids were often frowned upon in Vos, and those who were only part seeker were mocked and shunned. "We have a mission to complete."

"There it is, just like Starscream said." I whispered. "Jack, Arcee,  you two ready?" The pair nodded. I looked over to Bumblebee and Bulkhead, and they nodded as well. We all charged, storming the space bridge and taking out the vehicon drones. I activated the space bridge, the swirling green portal roaring to life. "Move move move! Bulkhead! Bulblebee! Make sure this area stays secure." I said, the three of us diving on through the bridge and out onto Cybertron.

With the help of the key, we were able to locate the entrance to Vector Sigma. As I stepped in to follow Jack, I heard something whisper to me, causing me to stop in my tracks.

"Y/D? What's wrong?" Jack asked.

'Everspark. You come to us.' The voice whispered. 'The child will survive. You must come to us.'

"Y/D?"

"Jack, do you think you can go on without me?" I asked. He hesitated but nodded. "If I'm not back by the time you are done, get Arcee and get out."

"What?"

"You restoring Optimus is more important than whatever awaits me here. Now go." I watched as the human ran down one of the various halls.

'Follow the steps of the 13, Everspark.' The voice whispered, a trail of light appearing at my pedes. I followed the strange trail deeper and deeper into Vector Sigma, coming to a long bridge with lights running along the side. I stared at the massive wall of fire that sat at the end of the bridge.

"Come forward, Everspark." An ethereal voice said, the wall of flame disappearing and a great orb that seemed to contain billions of stars. I hesitantly approached the strange ethereal being.

"Are you the Oracle?" I asked hesitantly.

"Yes, I have been waiting for you. Come into my light." I obeyed, stepping inside the orb. I felt myself start to float about, stars dancing and swirling around me. "Your spark has yet to awaken Y/D Prime. Be still, and you will understand." I saw a tendril of light gently caress my chassis, popping it open and revealing my brilliant (f/c) spark. I watched as a black and white object that seemed similar to the Matrix of Leadership form in front of me.

"What is that?" I asked.

"The Matrix of Balance. It was meant for you many millenia ago. It contains the knowledge you need to become what you were forged to be. Now be still and awaken." The Matrix was then placed into my chassis, and I felt my frame shift. My armor plating melded into a more study form, similar to that of a human Paladin. My seeker wings separated and became angel like, the soft glow of the flights reflecting around my now dark blue armor. Golden details lined the edges of my armor plates, each one delicately engraved. My daggers became full blades, completing the change.

"Whoa... so this... this what I was supposed to be?" I asked, checking out my new armor.

"The Everspark is your relic, and now it is bound within the Matrix of Balance. Find your balance, and you will rise. For now, you must go. Your comrades are searching for you." I was then engulfed in light, my pedes landing outside of Vector Sigma. I saw Arcee and Jack staring at me in awe.

"Y/D? What in the world...." Jack said in disbelief. "You are Y/D, right?"

"Uh... tadah?" I said with an awkward shrug. A dorky half smile on my face followed suit.

"Definetly Y/D." Arcee chuckled. "We should move, though. I don't know how much time we have left." I nodded and took to the sky, keeping optics on Jack and Arcee as we made our way to the checkpoint. The 3 of us dove on through the ground bridge, combat ensuing on the other side.

"Optimus!" I called, spotting Optimus battling with Megatron. He gave me an odd look and then was knocked over. "You leave him alone!" I snapped, drawing my blades and engaging with Megatron.

"Who in Primus are you?" Megatron snarled. I raised my newly acquired battle maske and glared into Megatron's optics.

"Everspark." I snarled, shoving Megatron back. We engaged in combat once again, the clashing of blades ringing loudly in the cave.

"Y/D!" I heard Bumblebee whirr, catching my attention.

"Bee! Fall b-ARGH!" I was cut off by Megatron kicking me in the chassis and sending me flying into the wall. I let out a loud grunt as I slid down, forcing myself back up with heavy vents.

"Y/D? My, you have changed." Megatron cooed. "Yet you are still weak!" He fired his cannon at me, and I suddenly vanished, only to reappear behind him. He whipped around, both of us confused at what just happened. The confusion was short-lived as Megatron then charged at me again, our blades crashing. "Clever trick! But not clever enough!" He snapped, decking me in the helm and knocking me to the ground.

"Y/D!" Bumblebee beeped desperately, his voice and the world around me becoming fuzzy. My audials rang, and I saw Bumblebee kneel down next to me and pulled me to his chassis. "C’mon Y/D!"

"B-bee?" I groaned, shaking my helm and snapping out of my dazed state. The sounds of battle ended, my frame relaxing.

"Y/D!" Optimus said.

"I-I'm alright." I groaned, sitting up and grabbing my throbbing helm. "That hurt."

"I would think so." I heard Ratchet say. "But we should get out of here, and I have a feeling Y/D has some explaining to do."
