15- Day Out

Maryanne has been staying with the gallaghers for 5 days. Whilst she loves her family and has fun playing with franny, it has been difficult. She misses mickey and ian terribly.

Mickey also hated the arrangement but knew it was for her own safety. He would lose his mind if he had to take care of Ian and maryanne. And maryanne didnt need to see Ian when he was in such a state. But mickey needed to see his daughter. To take her out for the day and cheer her up.

So fiona agreed to stay with Ian for the day whilst mickey went round to the gallaghers. He walked in and crept up behind maryanne who was watching TV with Liam

"Sup blondie"

"Ah! Papa!" Maryanne jumped off the sofa into his arms, never wanting to let go ever again. Mickey held her tight, kissing her cheeks and head repeatedly as she burst into giggles

"I missed you so much. Is daddy here?"

"I missed you too baby. And no, daddy isn't here. He's still abit poorly. I'm sorry sweetpea" mickey sighed

"That's OK"

"But guess what. Me and you are gonna spend the whole day together. So you go upstairs and get dressed" maryanne grinned, running up stairs to get dressed

"He needs a doctor mickey" Debbie said

"Lot of ya, fuck off. You're asking me to choice between my husband and my daughter. I can't do that. OK? So I'm making the decision to care for both of them"

"But you're not. She hates it here. She's happy but misses you too much. Cries every night because she wants to go home. And ian isn't getting better either. This arrangement is just making things worse" lip says

"Fuck off. You ready to go kid?" Mickey asks as maryanne runs down the stairs. She nods happily and grips mickeys hand, beaming at everyone as they wave goodbye

"Where are we going papa?" She asks getting into the car and fastening her seat belt

"You had breakfast yet?" Mickey asks. She shakes her head

"Then we'll go to McDonald's and then we're spending the day at an amusement park" they both cheer and mickey can't help but feel bad. His husband is lying in bed feeling suicidal whilst he's off having fun on roller-coaster. But he keeps telling himself, this is for maryanne

"You had your insulin?" She nods her head

"Yep"

"Ye well, ill check with lip" mickey calls lip and he reassures mickey that maryanne has already had her insulin just moments before mickey took her.
They go to McDonald's and eat it in the car

"You spill your milkshake, I kill you" mickey threatens making maryanne laugh

"I won't I promise" she giggles

"Good" they finish eating and then get to the amusement park. Maryannes jaw dropped as they entered, amazed at what she was seeing. So many things going on at once, she couldn't believe it.

"Now there are some rules. I know its very exciting. But I don't wanna lose you. Its a big place with alot of people. So you hold my hand at all times. You never wonder off and you don't talk to strangers. Got it?"

"Yes papa I got it. Now can we go on the rides?" He smiles and nods as they run towards the roller-coaster. Mickey checks her height and she's good to go. They queue up for 45 minutes before getting to the front. During that queue time, mickey tied up her hair so it wouldn't get knotted

"You been on a roller-coaster before?" Mickey asks and she shakes her head

"You'll love it" he says although he was terrified. Not for himself. But worried that she wouldn't like it and refuse to ever go on one ever again. They got strapped in and maryanne suddenly got scared, holding mickeys hand tightly

"Hey you're OK. I promise, just keep your head back and enjoy it" maryanne shuts her eyes tightly as the ride starts. There were 2 loops and it was going incredibly fast. Mickey was worried when he couldn't hear her but then she started to giggle. The ride was spent listening to their screams and laughs until they got off and maryanne was jumping up and down

"Again again" she yells trying to get back on but mickey quickly grabs her back

"No baby. We can go on other rides if you want" she nods and races off so mickey had to try and catch her. They go on a few more rides before there is the biggest roller-coaster in the park

"Am I tall enough. Am I? Am I?" She asks excited. Mickey checks as she stands next to the measuring stick

"No sorry blondie" her lip pouts out sadly

"Ya know what, fuck it" Mickey lifts her up and goes to buy some candy. They get back in the queue

"But I won't be allowed on" maryanne says as if mickey was stupid

"Do you trust ya old man?"

"Of course"

"Then shut your pie hole" she laughs as they get to the front

"I'm sorry little miss but I think you're too little for the ride" right infront of the man, mickey takes off her shoes, stuffs them with sweets and puts them back on so she appears abit taller

"Measure her again" so he does. It was clear the worker didn't want to be there and was just trying to make it through the day, so he let them on the ride

"See, i told you to trust me" he says as they get strapped in

"Papa I'm scared"

"You liked the other ones. This one is the same just a little bit higher. That's all. I wouldn't let you on a ride if I thought it was dangerous" he promises. They hold hands as the ride starts. And off they go. It was incredible. They both got off the ride with massive smiles on their face
