Ever since Tara's girlfriend, y/n got brutally attacked by ghostface, she hasn't been acting like herself. She has gotten really quiet and tried to distance herself with everyone. But of course no one allowed that to happen.
It was a cold night. Tara and y/n cuddling in bed with Tara's body heat keeping y/n warm and protective. But I guess it wasn't good enough as y/n started fidgeting in her sleep.
Tara woke up to rustling and mumbling next to her. The second she looked over to y/n, she realised that her girlfriend was having a nightmare.
"Hey y/n, wake up it's okay" Tara says in a raspy tone due to her just waking up.
Tara hovering over y/n's sleeping rustling form starting to shake her shoulders to wake her from the nightmare.
"Baby wake up, I'm here it's okay, just wake up for me" Tara says worried
Y/n shot straight up from her petrifying nightmare, breathing heavily.
Tara lifted y/n onto her lap into a straddling form and comforted her as she started to cry.
"Shh it's alright y/n/n I'm here, no one will ever even touch you again." Tara says in a soothingly tone
"Sorry I woke u up" y/n whispers quietly face cuddled up in Tara neck
"Hey hey no need to be sorry, don't say you're sorry okay?" Tara replies
"..sor-"
"What did I say?" Tara laughs out as y/n lets out a watery laugh
"At least I got a little laugh out off you hmm?" Tara teases
"Shut up" y/n playfully mumbled in Tara's shoulder
A couple minutes later after comfortable silence Tara asks "do you want to talk about it?"
"..no" Y/n whispers in hesitation
"That's okay, let's go back to bed" Tara softly replies
They got comfortable in bed with Tara raping her arms protectively around y/n.
"Y/n?" Tara rasps out quietly due to her still sleepy
Y/n hums in response
"I'll always protect you." Tara replies while her eyes soften
"You promise?"
"I promise."
