Mira glanced nervously at Lily, Mary, and Marlene as they gathered in the secluded corner of the common room. It had been a while since they had all spent time together, and she knew they would have questions about her recent absence. She took a deep breath, preparing herself for the lies she would have to tell.

Lily, ever observant, was the first to speak. "Mira, we've been worried sick about you. What happened? Why were you in the infirmary?"

Mira tried to appear nonchalant, though her heart raced with anxiety. "Oh, it was nothing really," she replied, feigning a casual tone. "Just a little accident during one of my late-night walks. Tripped over a loose stone near the Forbidden Forest, you know how clumsy I can be."

Marlene narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "But you've been gone for days, Mira. And we heard there was blood everywhere. Are you sure you're telling us everything?"

Mira's gaze dropped to the floor, her voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't want to worry anyone. It was just a minor injury, and Madam Pomfrey wanted me to rest and recover. That's why I've been away."

Mary chimed in, concern evident in her voice. "But why were you out there alone in the first place? We usually go on our moonlight walks together."

Mira hesitated, her mind scrambling for a plausible explanation. "I needed some time alone, you know? Just to clear my head and sort things out. I promise, it won't happen again." this part actually had been true.

Lily studied Mira intently, her expression a mix of worry and understanding. "Alright, Mira. We trust you. Just please, next time, let us know. We're here for you."

Mira's heart swelled with both gratitude and guilt. She nodded, unable to meet their eyes. "Thank you, all of you. I really appreciate it."

As the conversation moved on to lighter topics, Mira couldn't help but feel a weight of secrecy on her shoulders. She had agreed to keep the Marauders' secret, even if it meant lying to her closest friends. The truth gnawed at her, but for now, she had to play her part, concealing the dangerous truth that lay hidden beneath their world of magic and friendship.

It wasn't long before the girls grew tired and retreated to their dormitory. Mira had been waiting for this moment for the majority of the day, as earlier she had agreed to meet the marauders due to her newfound discovery.

Once the dorm room fell into a gentle symphony of soft snores, Mira carefully slipped out of bed, making sure not to disturb her slumbering roommates. Moonlight seeped through the window, casting ethereal shadows across the room as she quietly dressed herself. Her mind was consumed by thoughts of the Marauders and the clandestine world they inhabited. She had agreed to meet them, to delve deeper into the truth behind Remus's condition and their remarkable abilities. It was a path she willingly embarked upon, driven by a desire to help and a thirst for understanding.

Mira tiptoed through the corridors of Hogwarts, guided by the dim glow of her wand. She made her way to the designated meeting spot, a secluded area by the black lake. As she approached, she could make out the figures of Sirius, Peter, James, and Remus, waiting patiently.

Remus, his expression a mix of gratitude and remorse, stepped forward to greet her. "Mira, I'm truly sorry for what happened. I never meant for you to get hurt."

Mira managed a small smile, her voice filled with warmth. "don't worry about it. I know it wasn't your fault anyways" She smiled softly, trying to lighten the atmosphere.

The others smiled in return, relief evident in their eyes. It was a moment of camaraderie, a reminder of the bond they shared amidst the shadows and secrets. But soon, the conversation turned serious once again.
