🌨️Tis' The Damn Season❄️ (Part 1/?)

(This is a college AU I just made like right now, where basically, The music club members all left Rosemeadow, and here they are home for the winter holidays.)

(Hailey POV)

It's my last weekend back home in Rosemeadow, before I head back to UCLA, and honestly the whole week I've been searching around for Jake, and he hasn't returned my calls.

He was there when we were loading my car to leave for the airport, and he was the last one to head out out of all of us.

Before I left, I hugged him one last time before getting in the car where my parents and Bethany waited to take me off to the airport, Zander had already left a few days before. Me and Jake had been the last two, but when he was hugging me he whispered "I love you.." in my ear.

Because of that I had been avoiding all of the stereotypical LA boys entirely. I had found this girl, Samantha, who was studying to improve her writing skills to become an author. She claims that if I ever get famous, she'd write a book on my story, even though she knows almost nothing about where I came from. She knows I have a band, but she doesn't know how much of a family these guys are to me.

I was getting sidetracked from my plan.. I was going to drive to Jake's house and find him myself. For some reason the drive felt longer, and that should be impossible, I mean it takes like an hour to go anywhere in LA! I looked out of the side window next to me at a red light.. and that's when I saw him. He was in the car next to me, with a suitcase in the passenger seat. He must've been driving for hours, his car was muddy and from my angle he looked exhausted. maybe his phone was dead!

I decided to head back to my parents house just so I can wait for him to call me, so I don't seem to  be following him.

-an hour later-

I was sitting at the computer working on my latest song, it's a Thursday, and I have to start getting presents for everyone tomorrow.

My phone started ringing, and when I looked over, a feeling of ache and joy at the same time filled my soul.

"Oh my god! I thought you were ignoring me!" I answered with a laugh.

"Haha, sorry I took so long, I had to drive my gi- well ex girlfriend back to her house in idaho first." He answered with a yawn

"Oh.. how come you didn't tell me about her!" I was shocked, and kinda heartbroken.

"She was really controlling, if I would've texted you these past couple of months, I could've died." He replied a little too calmly.

"Well in that case, I'm glad you got rid of her!" I tried to make a little joke out of it, but he really wasn't laughing.

"Sorry.." I began

"No! You don't have to be sorry, she was just really mentally abusive towards me, but I would be seen as a liar if I said a girl abused a guy.." he sighed.

"Double standards suck." I groaned, honestly that girl sounds awful.

"You can say that again!" He tried to laugh.

"Wanna hang out? Me and Zander-"

"How about just you?"

"Or that.." I was confused, hadn't he moved on? I thought he didn't love me now... this is so confusing.

"Okay, great, meet me between our old Highschool and the methodist church." He sounded happy now.
