"I knew you would come back"

For a slight moment I hoped it would be Pierre.

But I was also happy to see that Daniel decided to put me out of my misery by carrying me back to the hotel in bridal style.

Charles and I make our way back to our room and say good night to everyone. We cuddle up in bed and thanks to all the alcohol it only took me seconds to fall asleep.

23rd November 2022, Abu Dhabi

I enter the paddock more nervous then usual as i was just on my way to hopefully sign my contract. I enter the hospitality and Victoria greets me with a hug "I'm so happy that you're joining us!".

I giggle "oh believe me, me too."

We sit down in one of the conference rooms "I do have one question left tho.." she starts and I wait for her to continue "why not ferrari?".

I smile wondering why they didn't ask earlier "they didn't answered that's why."

"You're close with the Leclercs.. you could've gotten the job easily"

"That's right but I also wanted to make it on my own and not because of who I'm close with."

She smiles at me "their loss, our win"

We negotiate the details of the contract and she gives me an insight of all my tasks that I'll have to take on. It was a lot not gonna lie but I was more then exited. I would have the opportunity to overtake the lead of the media team on track if my work pleases them so that motivated me even more.

I was starting pretty soon. During the winter break I'm going to the HQ and work myself in, especially on the marketing side like preparing the car launch and other marketing activities. At the beginning of next year I will slowly overtake the social media channels and dive deeper into content creating with the drivers.

I read the contract over and over again to be sure there wasn't anything hidden. I singend it the same day. Victoria introduced me to my now coworkers and they all welcomed me with open arms.

I was just about to leave the hospitality as I hear someone call my name. I turn around to see max "welcome to the team..".

I smile "thank you."

"I knew you would come back" he says with a smirk and i shake my head.

"I'm only gonna say this once so listen carefully. In my eyes you are a nobody. I regret the past we share but I can't change it. We will be working together very closely in the future so please let's be civil. I don't want to fight with you and I don't want you to keep hitting on me. We will work together and be professional. Who knows maybe we can try and be friends but for let's just keep it professional. You agree with that don't you verstappen?" He just looks at me and doesn't move. I nod and pat his shoulder before I leave.

With a smile on my face I walk out of the hospitality and see Daniel walking towards me. He smiles at me brightly "Hey co-worker!".

I laugh "How is my favourite third driver on the grid ?" I ask while hugging him.

"Better then ever. Most likely the best decision I could make."

"As soon as i'll see you back on the grid after that I'm happy. You deserve a team who supports you."

He laugh "We will see.." We say goodbye and he heads into the Red Bull motorhome while I make my way back to the hotel.
