Chapter 9

Ember’s POV

Shaw had me in chains in a room of his sub. He would come in here and use his power to torture me. I heard the door open again and I heard Shaw’s voice.

“Hello Ember.” I looked up at him.

“Your little friends are threatening my plan to start a war.” He said. I smirked up at him. “Good.” I spat at him. He sent a blast through my body making me scream in pain. I felt something in my head.

Hello? I asked weakly.

Ember? I heard Charles say.

Hey Charles.

Ember. Ember, are you all right? He asked worried before I could answer Shaw sent another blast through me making me scream and fall to the floor.

“I’ll be back.” Shaw said leaving.

I tried to find Charles again but I couldn’t reach him. I tugged at the chains bored and they gave way. I stared at them in shock. I quickly broke the other chains and left the room where he kept me. As I wandered through the sub trying to find my way out I felt it go on an angle lifting out of the water. We kept moving till we were falling. A piece of the sub broke off and I went flying. I landed in the sand I tried to get up but I couldn’t move.

Eric’s POV

Charles was trying to find Shaw on the vessel when he said a name that gave my heart a shock.

“Ember?” We all stared at him.

“Ember? She’s alive?” Raven said.

“Yes, she’s alive. She’s on Shaw’s sub. Ember. Ember, are you all right?” He asked hurriedly. He suddenly let out a scream.

“Charles! What’s happening?” I yelled at him. What’s happening to my baby sister?!

“Shaw is using his power to send energy through Ember’s body.” He replied. I have never wanted to kill that man more.

Hold on Ember. I’m coming.

I ran into an opening of the sub.

Erik make your way to the middle of the vessel. That the part my mind can’t penetrate. We have to assume that that’s where Shaw is. I heard Charles say in my head.

 I made it to the control room and disabled the nuclear reactor. I opened a door and walked inside.

Erik you’re there, you’ve reached the void.

“He’s not here Charles. Shaw’s not here! He must have left the sub.”

What? He has to be there! He said.

The wall opened behind me to reveal Sebastian Shaw in a mirror room.

“Erik. A pleasant surprise.” He said. “So good to see you again.”

Alex’s POV

Angel chased Banshee around the boat. I saw Banshee coming around and I covered my ears just in time to disable the soldiers that were guarding me. I ran towards the side of the boat and jumped off to have him catch me. We were flying until Angel came up behind us and shot one of her acid spitballs at us hitting Banshee’s wing creating a hole. We managed to make it closer to the island and crashed on the beach.

“Havok! Banshee!” I looked up to see someone I thought I would never see again running towards us.

“Atalanta.” I said pulling her into a hug. I held her close fearing that this wasn’t real.

“I’m here Alex. It’s really me.” She said pulling away to look at me. I stared at her for a second before kissing her. She kissed back and it was amazing. Our lips moved in sync and she tasted amazing.

“Guys!” Banshee yelled. We pulled apart and she blushed.

“Come on. Let’s go kick some butt.” She said grabbing my hand and running off.

Ember’s POV

The twister guy sent two twisters at me. I put a force field around them making them quickly stop.

“My turn.” I said. I created a ball of fire between my hands and sent it at him sending him back. He hit the sub and fell down unconscious.

I heard someone hit the sand and I saw Angel laying there her wings singed.

“Nice Havok!” I yelled. He turned and smiled at me.

I jumped up and ran towards him.

“Where’s Hank?” I asked.

“Right here.” I looked up and saw a big blue beast thing walking towards me.

“Hank?” I asked. He nodded.

“His name is Beast now.” Alex said. I smiled running up to hug him. He swung me around in a circle.

“It’s good to see you girl.” He said setting me down. “Let’s get these off you.” He said breaking off the chains that were still around my wrists and ankles.

“Soul!” I heard a familiar female voice say. I turned to see a blue skinned red haired Raven running towards me. I pulled her into a hug before pulling back to look at her.

“Damn girl! You look awesome!” I said She laughed.

“Thanks. I’m glad someone likes how I look.” I felt arms come around my waist and pull me into a chest. I looked up and saw Alex smiling down at me. I leaned back against him smiling.

“Where’s Eric?” I asked wanting to see my brother. I hadn’t seen him.

“He’s somewhere inside the sub.” My heart sunk.

“No!” I shouted. I turned to run and get him but that didn’t work very well seeing as how I was in pain and Alex and Beast held me back.

I hear metal break apart and I spun around to see Shaw floating in almost a T formation out of the sub followed by my brother who was wearing a weird metal helmet.

Ok Now what the hell is going on??
