They had all rushed to the field
"Go away!" Will yelled as Maverick looked up and only saw the sun in a clear sky.
"Is he okay?" Max asked as Will continued to scream away. "Maybe he's having another panic attack." Dustin suggests as they came closer to the boy
Joyce had tears in her eyes as her hands began to shake
"Will?" Maverick asked. "Will, can you hear me? Just focus on my voice." he instructed as The Byers boy had already stopped screaming and now stood motionless on the field.
"Will, focus on your breathing and come back to me. Can you do that for me?" Eric helped the boy the best he could. He was now at a distance where he could touch Will, which is what he did. "Just focus on your--"
As Eric went to touch Will some type of force pushed him back making him hit his head against a rock on the ground. And then it all went black.
Eric opened his eyes to see the field he was just standing on, but there was now a darkness over the whole place, like it was nighttime.
"Will?!" He shouted looking around afraid
The boy looked around until he saw Will still standing where he previously was. But now there was a gas like substance entering him through his nose and mouth.
Looking back to see where the gas came from, Maverick saw a large, black creature towering over the school. Red lightning could also be seen in the clouds above it.
Quickly he ran towards Will and pulled Will away. The Byers boy opened his eyes
"Eric!, Eric we need to get out of here-" before Will could finish his sentence Eric was grasped by the mist. It circled itself around his neck and what had previously been happening to Will was now happening to Eric
With the remaining breath he had Eric screamed "Run Will! Run!" Will looked directly into Eric's eyes and saw there was no point in arguing
The boy began to run and only a few seconds later did he fade away
Eric began to wheeze as he felt particles rush through this mouth struggled to keep his eyes open.
Suddenly his body stopped moving. His eyes began rapidly opening and closing as he saw glimpses of the real world before losing consciousness once more.
Joyce had realised that both Will and Eric were no longer moving and she rushed to both of them
"Boys! Hey Will,Eric! Wake up!" She yelled grabbing them both
The party and Max rushed to the boys aid doing anything to try and wake them up
Will eyes had shot open and then he looked at Eric
"Eric, he's- he's still in there! Eric wake up! You need to wake up!" Will shouted
"Will!" Joyce Byers, the mother of Will who had arrived at the school a few minutes ago, screamed in relief as she hugged the boy
"Wait we need to get Eric out of their, he could die" Will panted removing himself from his mothers embrace
Max quickly rushed over to Eric and placed her hands on his face "Eric please! Please you need to wake up!"
"I need you" she whispered into his ear and then continued to shake the boy
Suddenly his eyes snapped open and his began shaking
Mike quickly looked up at the boy a sense of relief filling him
It was quickly traded with worry as she saw the boy still had not calmed down.
Eric was dragging against his shirt and he felt as if his throat was closing in on him.
He then brought himself to the floor still unaware to his surroundings
"His bag! Where's his bag. He needs his asthma pump!" Mike said rummaging through the stuff they had brought to the field
As the boys had known each other for long Mike always knew when Eric needed his pump
He then saw a black bag with basketball stickers on it and immediately grasped it and opened the front pocket
Max stared at the boy in even more worry and she looked desperately at Mike waiting for the asthma pump
Mike grabbed it and rushed forward to Eric
Eric took the pump from him and tried to use it. He pressed the top but nothing came out. In anger he threw across the field
"Empty" he wheezed to Mike
His eyes widened even more and Mike started panicking
"It's empty and he doesn't have anymore!" Mike yelled
Max stopped and thought for a second
She then sat in front of Eric cross legged and started talking to him
"Eric Eric look at me yeah, remember when um we were at the arcade and I spilt soda all over my jumper." Max made sure to keep Eric's gaze on her
"Um um yeah. It-it was fun-funny" he replied
The party watched the two and as they continued to talk, Eric started to calm down
"Yeah you laughed at me and got me a new drink"
"Do you remember the song that you played for me and Leo to make him fall asleep, do you remember what Leo called it"
Eric laughed at bit "yeah-um he-he called it the glue song"
"You're fine you're okay" Max lifted Eric's face forcing him to
Make eye contact
"It's just you and me, always" Max whispered
Eric had now calmed down and he hugged Max tightly
The girl was a bit suprised by the random embrace but took it anyway as Joyce and the party smiled the two
Max was now a bit embarrassed by the stares but at the same time she didn't care.
"Thank you" he whispered to the girl
"Like you said, I'm stuck with you" she chuckled
