It had been a few days since Sebastian and I had our talk on the couch. I didn't say anything after what he had told me, I had become very flustered after it. We didn't do anything, in fact he left and went home rather flustered as well. Sebastian actually snuck in very late that night and fell asleep next to me. He's been doing that the past few nights.

He must still be afraid to be alone for to long.

I went down into my vivarium to check on the black unicorn and refill the feeder. His hair started to grow in around his wounded area and was beginning to look normal again. I wish I could introduce him outside with the others, but he is just to big of a target for the poachers. I exited the vivarium and went upstairs. Sebastian was at the table with papers spread all over the top.

"What's all this?" He quickly cleaned up the papers into a pile and placed them in a book.

"Oh, just some things for my book. I thought you weren't here."

"I was just in the basement." I set my gloves down on the kitchen counter and grabbed a fresh roll Rose had brought over this morning.

"Could I ask you out on a date tonight?"

"A date? Well, it's been a while since my last proper date. I don't think I remember what they are supposed to be like."

"Well, let's just say that the boyfriend is not supposed to try and kill the girlfriend at the end of the night."

"Oh, was that a date?"

"I think that last proper date we had was the first one I took you on."

"I think I can accept your date proposal then. So what are we doing?"

"I'll be making you dinner. I don't feel comfortable leaving the protection barrier just yet. Is that alright?"

"It's perfect Sebastian."

He gathered his books then hurried out the door to his home. Since it was after lunch and I had spent all morning in the muddy pens with the beasts I decided to take a bath. The one downside to working with beasts all day, especially getting the pens ready for winter, you always smell like them.

I drew the hot bath, putting in a mixture of different flower oils to rid my body of the smell of beasts. I relaxed my shoulders and covered my body with the water. Just my nose to the top of my head poked out above the water. I lost track of time as I let my muscles relax. I had been beating my body to death getting all the beasts ready for winter these past few days. I hadn't slowed down at all, working from sun up to sun down. I started making a mental list of the last things that needed to be done.

I finally noticed how long I had been in the bath as the water had started to grow cold. I stepped out of the bath and drained the water. Looking into my mirror, I could see the bags that had appeared under my eyes and the slight sunburn on my shoulders. There was really no hiding how tired and overworked I had become.

I put on a simple dress with a blue daisy print that lined the bottom. After brushing my hair, I put it in a simple, loose bun, letting two strands fall to frame my face. This is probably the best I have looked since graduation this past spring.

I looked at my watch and saw that it had been a few hours and was already dinner time. I walked over to Sebastian's house under an umbrella as it was of course raining once again. He opened the door and I walked in.

His house smelled of fresh bread and candles were littered everywhere. His fireplace had a small crackling fire going. I sat down at the table and he brought over our dinner.

"Fish? When id you have time to go fishing?"

"I asked Marcus to go this morning. I just learned the other day that he loves to fish. He caught these this morning for us, but he had way more. He let me choose."
