Can a person live two live parallel lives at once? Exist in two dimensions at the same time? Straddle two existences: convergent yet divergent; discrete yet connected?

A single but split personality - coexisting in one body, sharing one soul and one spirit - each set on a different trajectory.

One me lives in my fairy tale dreaming that the kötü kral turns into my nazik prens. The other is in the medieval allegory, in the eighth circle of Dante's Inferno paying penance for my sins.

Which one is the real me? The virtuous vestal virgin waiting for her knight in shining armour to whisk her to a happily-ever-after or the vindictive villainous virago set on wreaking vengeance on the evil king?

The two jostle for pre-eminence. Which one will win?

I started out simply, a young woman with two big dreams: become a successful writer and settle on The Galapagos Islands. I dreamed of spending the rest of my days with my Albatross by my side, safe under his big strong wings.

But my dreams have morphed into nightmares, nightmares in which I am trapped in an endless loop of doom and despair.

Instead of soaring with my mate for life, I am saddled with the weight of my albatross around my neck.
