i leave chris' room to go get ready for the day. as i walk to the living room i see nick.
"oh heyyy niick" i say awkwardly walking over
"where were you?" he says hands clasped in his lap.
"with chris."
"hmmm"with his face is scrunched up, "and why's that?"
"we were just hanging out."
"mhm."
"nickk, stoooop, you make it so hard to talk to you when you're weird like that."
"alright fine, spill it." he sits crisscross on the couch facing me as i sit in front of him.
"i like chris." i whisper. nick whispers back, "he likes you too."
"you two are just wildly oblivious!"
"no way. how didn't i realize." i cant stop smiling, "but he doesn't like commitment and hes not ready to date anyone."
"slow down" nick says quietly "things can change when you meet the right people. i know my brothers better than anyone, and i know chris likes you."
"but nick-"
"give it time. drop hints."
"ok."
nick goes to get up and walk away,"nick?"
"yeah."
"can this stay between us?"
"of course, but not forever."
