Sorry I love you (Xiaojin ff)

-1- Happy Birthday

Yujin wandered around her shared dorm, calling out to her younger members as their whereabouts were unknown. She frantically glanced around, puzzled by the emptiness. She noted that the entire dorm was neat and tidy, something very rare considering she shares a dorm with multiple slobs. Although she loves all her members, she genuinely desires that certain ones learn what true cleanliness is. A small frown formed upon Yujin's lips as she realized the only one in the dorm was her, unfortunately for her, her own mere presence wasn't enough to keep her satisfied. Being the social butterfly that she is, she required an awful amount of company, and usually, a certain Chinese member was the core provider for Yujin. On any normal day for Yujin, this sudden absence wouldn't faze her however, today wasn't any normal day. It's her birthday. She contemplated if her members, her close friends, had just simply forgotten and made a simple mistake but doubt overcame her mind. She knew they wouldn't forget, they never had in the past, especially Xiaoting as she was normally the first one to wish Yujin a happy birthday. Yujin thought to herself, thinking perhaps she did something to upset the members. She decided to push the idea away and steered her focus toward starting a birthday V-live for Kep1ians. She shuffled around, setting up the table and camera then settled down in front of the camera before starting the live. She checked her phone and adjusted everything before pressing the record.

   Yujin greeted her fans cheerfully, thanking everyone for wishing her a happy birthday. One comment had asked where her members were and if she was alone. Instead of answering, she pretended not to see the comment while masking her slight disappointment. Before Yujin could read another comment the lights suddenly went out. She froze in her spot, clueless as to what was going on. She sighed, thinking she needed to check the breaker for the electricity but decided against it when she heard footsteps. She looked away from the camera, riddled with confusion that was clearly written on her face. As she looked up she saw none other than Mashiro holding a birthday cake with lit-up candles on it. Surrounding Mashiro were their other fellow members. Yujin's eyes scanned over everyone until they stopped on a particular tall girl. Her smile grew even wider, hiding her eyes as they began to smile as well. Of course, she was excited all the members were here but once her eyes met Xiaoting's soft doe eyes and sweet smile, her heart fluttered. Yujin's had feelings for said girl since the first day they met. It was during the survival show Girls Planet 999, they ended up in a small group together to perform on stage. Xiaoting was evidently shy and nervous especially around Yujin since Yujin was already well-known from her time with CLC. Yujin was the first one to initiate any interaction with them and she caught her first glimpse of Xiaoting's cute smile that forever remained engraved in her mind. Ever since then, they were both able to comfortably talk to each other as they were naturally drawn to one another. The only problem was that Yujin is convinced Xiaoting thinks of her as a best friend, maybe even a sister, and that put a pit in Yujin's stomach. She decided not to confess, worried she would ruin what they had. She snapped out of Xiaoting's haunting gaze when she heard her members singing happy birthday in sync. She beamed happily at her members as they all sat around her while Mashiro placed the cake in front of her. The other members noticed the camera and waved a form of greeting toward their fans. Once they finished singing Yujin took a deep breath, clasping her hands together and thinking of a wish before gracefully blowing out all the candles. Cheers erupted around her as the lights were flicked back on and her members took turns hugging her. Yujin gave them all a sweet, grateful smile that caused her eyes to be hidden as they smiled with her. An action that all the members always thought was cute. "Thank you so much guys!" she spoke gleefully, watching as all her members sat around her. She tried to ignore the fact that Xiaoting not only sat next to her but also sat very, very close to her. She ignored the way Xiaoting was staring at her, it almost looked lovingly but Yujin thought that it was just her imagination. Quickly, her eyes settled on Dayeon whom decided to be the one to respond, "It's nothing really! I hope you liked the surprise unnie. We had figured you would be upset if we forgot so we thought it would be fun to mess with you." Dayeon smiled mischievously while Hikaru nudged her playfully in a suggestive manner, as did Bahiyyih. Yujin playfully rolled her eyes and then looked toward the camera with a slight glint in her eyes as if she had an idea. "I think it's time for my birthday kisses!" she announced with a proud smile on her face as she gave their fans a thumbs up. There was a mixture of reactions, most of them being excited, some being disgusted groans. Yujin didn't pay any mind to it as her focus was on the reaction she truly cared about, Xiaoting. To her surprise Xiaoting hardly reacted, she simply remained quiet as she smiled innocently at Yujin. Her suspicion rose, wondering what antics Xiaoting was planning. She looked over at Mashiro as she stood up and planted a friendly kiss on Yujin's head, giving her a warm and somewhat motherly smile. Yujin couldn't help but smile back as her members squealed in delight while some (Youngen, Chaehyun, and Dayeon) gagged out of disgust. The next one to give her a kiss was Bahiyyih, leaving a mark on her cheek, then Dayeon leaving a soft kiss on her forehead and Youngen leaving one on the top of her head. Yeseo quickly left a small peck on Yujin, causing her to smile at their maknae's cuteness. That smile would soon dissipate when she felt long, slender fingers grab her chin and make her look toward's the culprit, which unfortunately for Yujin, turned out to be Xiaoting. When the two made eye contact it was almost like everything around them stopped and it was only them. Xiaoting had a playful smirk on her face before slowly leaning in. All of Yujin's senses had shut down, unable to control her own movements and unable to hear the sound of her members squealing. She slowly inched forward as well, almost forgetting about the camera and everyone else.. Almost... she quickly pulled away when their faces were merely inches apart, her face was flushed with the realization of what just happened. She ignored her member's frantic squeals of excitement and chaotic nature as she kept replaying the moment in her head. 'Was Xiaoting actually going to kiss me?' she wondered as she remembered the way Xiaoting's lips looked as if she truly was wanting it. Yujin snapped out of her racing thoughts when she felt Xiaoting come closer and place a soft, delicate kiss almost on the corner of her lip. Yujin's face slowly grew redder as she looked at the girl next to her who had a proud smirk on her face, But anyone with eyes could see that Xiaoting was just as flustered as Yujin despite her smug look.

   Once the V-live had ended with cheerful goodbyes, the members went to bed after bidding Yujin one last happy birthday. There was one person left alone in the living room, Xiaoting. She wasn't ready to go to bed, nor did she want to. She made her way to her and Yujin's shared room, seeing the latter sighing contently and sitting on her own bed. Xiaoting couldn't help but let out a small giggle due to Yujin looking like a cute bunny. Xiaoting's giggle made Yujin perk up as she gave the tall girl her undivided attention. She gave her a sheepish smile and waved. "Happy birthday Yujinnie~" Xiaoting said sweetly as she approached Yujin and then poked her nose. Yujin unconsciously scrunched up her nose, causing Xiaoting to admire how cute her best friend looks. "Thanks, Ting... where's my gift?" Yujin teased as she stood up and positioned herself in front of Xiaoting. A small grin appeared on Xiaoting's face as she patted Yujin's head, "You'll see unnie ." Yujin's eyes went wide as she quickly shook her head and waved her hands in denial, "I was just kidding Ting! You don't have to get me anything." Once again, a chuckle escaped the taller girl's mouth. She gently placed her hands on the side of Yujin's arms, causing her to freeze.

"Too late, I already bought it. Besides I wanted to get you something especially since when I saw this I immediately thought of you." Xiaoting stared at Yujin's small pout and playfully rolled her eyes. "Just accept it unnie"

Yujin sighed as she hugged Xiaoting tightly, "You're so amazing Ting.. I don't know what I'd do without you." a shy smile appeared on both of the girls' faces. However, it didn't last long for Yujin when Xiaoting spoke.

"It's nothing. You're my best friend, so this is nothing really."

' oh.. Yeah...' Yujin thought to herself, accusing herself of being dumb and foolish to be caught in the moment. Her smile disappeared and she quickly pulled out of the hug. She flashed Xiaoting a fake smile and then looked away so the latter couldn't tell something was bothering her.

"Mhm! Just being a good best friend." She somewhat mumbled in response before laying in her bed. Xiaoting frowned as she watched Yujin, slightly tilting her own head out of confusion.

"Are you going to bed unnie?"

"Mhm"

Xiaoting was curious about the sudden change in Yujin but decided to leave it alone. Despite being disappointed that she didn't get much alone time with Yujin since she appeared to be tired, she
Decided it was best to sleep anyways so she can wake up early to make Yujin her favorite breakfast. Xiaoting laid in her own bed while staring at the ceiling.

"Good night Yujinnie~ Happy birthday again. Love you." the last two words made Xiaoting feel nervous and giddy because little did Yujin know, she meant those words in a different way. Unfortunately, Xiaoting is oblivious and dull so she has always been unable to muster up enough courage to tell Yujin exactly what she means every time she tells her those words. Xiaoting never really believed in true love at first sight until she met Yujin at the survival show. She knows it seems corny and unrealistic, but she couldn't help falling for a cute bunny. Her only wish is that the charming leader reciprocates her feelings.

There was a small moment of silence before Yujin's soft voice broke it, "Goodnight Ting~ thank you for everything, and I love you more." for a moment Xiaoting thought she heard genuine love behind those words but decided against it, assuming she was being delusional and Yujin meant platonically.
