Once, a beauty fell in love with a man forbidden to her.
She cherished this love
Like northerners cherish the sun,
Like a mother protects her child,
Like we hide our greatest treasures.
Her feelings were so great that they transformed into a beautiful flower with sharp thorns----- a talisman against the evil eye.
But Alas!
the desire burnt her to ashes.
Kept her aloof from contentment
And she told herself-
I loved you in secret and kept my silence.
I thought that’s how you wanted it.
Eternity was holding our gazes apart,
Able to destroy our brittle dreams.
But I can’t go on.
My yearning is intoxicating like waves falling on the shore,
I can’t keep this silence anymore.
I want to get drown in the sweet flame,
Of the soul that knows my soul.
Don’t you see my soul is burned with this thirst?
Don’t you see the torture behind my cold gaze?
My beautiful love, still this pain.
Come to me and put your head on my chest.
