The powerful aura of wisteria welcomed you as you joined the awaiting crowd of teens. You held your head high in a lady like manor as you walked past the other candidates ,consisting of all boys besides Kanao and yourself.
You deadpanned in annoyance and disbelief. Where are the rest of girls?
You huffed and suddenly your mood was soured. But this was nothing out of the ordinary girls tend to steer clear of the idea of fighting demons. Wonderful you thought sarcastically, more demons for me.
As other candidates came your eyes found those of a boy in a blue kimono with white clouds as he walked by. Suddenly, you stood frozen to your spot. You had never seen someone like him before and the fact that his eyes held such softness that almost made you want to pinch at his soft looking cheeks, sparked an interest in you. Those dark red eyes followed your own as they flicked to the side and back into his from under thick black lashes.
Your eyes widened when you heard his voice. It was soft and masculine. It was the voice of a growing teenage boy. Obviously.
"Are you okay , you seem a little bit off?"
You smiled and acknowlegde him with a nod,"Look around you and tell me how may girls you see."
Dark red eyes flicked around the area and realization seemed to strike him. Aside from you and the girl besides you that stepped closer to you and stared blankly at him , there were no other females present. Yet, at least.
"A shame really I was expecting more." you said as a wave of sadness washed over you. It felt like a restriction , if boys were brave enough to train and come to Final Selection to be deemed Demon Slayers then why not girls as well .

You looked back into his eyes in shock, you were so shocked that when his hand touched your shoulder, you jolted and immediatly his hand was gone and he was bowing in apology ," Gomenasai! I didn't mean to frighten you!"
You shook your hands around in a frenzy ,"Haaaahh! what are you talking about? It's alright , your phrasing of words really touched my heart and I wasn't expecting you to be paying that much attention!"
" You are too loud." Kanao's sweet voice filled your ears. Your head whipped in her direction so fast even the red eyed boy was surprised your weren't suffering from whiplash.
"So embarassing!" You squeeled hiding your face in your hands."My bad Kano-kun."
"No trouble Y/n-chan."She replied with a coy smile, and it disappeared as soon as it was seen. It was rare to see her emote, she only ever did it around you, Shinobu and Aoi.
"Y/n, is that your name?" came the voice of the boy again, and you found you're attention instantly pulled back to him.
You turned to the boy with wide eyes, opened your mouth to say something but stopped as you looked into his dark red eyes.His eyes were so pretty that it made your heart ache to not be able to see them every day. You could stare at him for years on end. "Yes, pretty eyes. Very pretty." You said dazed in your own world.
Kanao snickered behind her hand as a butterfly flittered around her finger.

You laughed opting for a way out of your embarrassing moment. "Tokito Y/n."
