From the berries they have picked,
So small and delicate,
Yet so strong and quick.
Little hands stained red,
From the paint they have been playing with,
So messy and creative,
Yet so full of joy.
Little hands stained red,
From the tears they have cried,
So sad and full of pain,
Yet so full of love.
Little hands stained red,
From the blood they have shed,
So innocent and precious,
Yet so full of sacrifice.
Little hands stained red,
A reminder of life,
Of love, of loss,
Of pain, of joy.
Little hands stained red,
A reminder of the beauty
Of the human spirit,
In all its fragility and strength.
