3RD PERSON POV :
Christmas Eve

Hayun laid in bed, thinking about how this would be the first Christmas without her dad. After much too long thinking, she put away her sad thoughts and instead, thought about the positives of this year.

She was grateful that her friends family had taken her in to live with them and they even wanted to spend Christmas with her.

She decided to be extra helpful today and cleaned her room quickly before heading downstairs, into the kitchen. Mrs Yang was cutting up some fruits.

"Good morning Mrs Yang, can I help you make breakfast?" Hayun asked her

"Of course you can, Yun! Here, are you good at making pancakes?" Mrs Yang replied and held up a pan for Hayun

"I can try!!" Hayun determinedly said

She had seen her father do it plenty of times before, surely she could do it, right?

Well... not quite

Hayun attempted to flip her first pancake and it ended up into a crumpled mess. She heard a chuckle from behind her, Jungwon.

"Hey, it's my first time making pancakes give me a break" Hayun defended herself, pouting a little

"Let me teach you then" Jungwon laughed and put Hayun's pancake crumple to the side

Jungwon melted some butter onto the pan and poured some pancake batter into the it, he quickly swirled it around the batter to make it cover all of the surface area.

"Now you wanna wait like— 30 seconds and then you can start pulling the edges of the pancake off the pan" he explained as she watched intently

He then perfectly flipped the pancake and Hayun gave him a small round of applause

"Okay now you try!" He said and stepped away from the pan

"No wait what— I can't ruin your perfect pancake" Hayun replied, putting her hands up

"I'll help you, put your hands on the handle first and I'll guide you" Jungwon insisted

Hayun stood infront of the pan and held the handle, Jungwon then put his arms around her to guide her in how to flip the pancake. He peaked his head over her shoulder and lifted the pan up.

"Okay.. now on my count, move the pan forward slightly and flick up" he instructed her and she nodded

"3..2..1!" He counted down and they flipped the pancake

"I did it!!" She cheered and put the pan down on the hob, Hayun and Jungwon then did a little dance celebration around Mrs Yang

"Look at you two, so funny you are" Mrs Yang laughed as the other two laughed along with her

after breakfast, the three of them cleaned up the house a little bit before Jungwon's grandma arrived, since there was only one spare room, Hayun and Jungwon decided to share a room so Jungwon's grandma could have the room Hayun was staying in temporarily. He had told Hayun about his grandma and how she would love Hayun, but she was still a bit nervous and she didn't know why.
