Ch 3

When the morning rush is finished I lean back against the counter with a sigh. "I think I'm gonna have to try wearing scent blockers again." Theo gives me a stern look. "No way! Your allergic remember? And don't you remember what happened last time you tried them? Your face blew up like a balloon." I grumble and pout. "I'm tired of creepy alpha's trying to get close to me. I can't even walk home without alphas grabbing me." He gives me a worried look. "I told you that I'd walk you home." I give him a look. "Yeah and Liam would kick my ass. Besides you'd be asleep and two omegas walking alone really late at night isn't any safer." He goes to say something when the bell dings signaling a customer. I quickly straighten up starting the regular greeting employees have to say. "Welcome to fever dream cafe how can I help you?" Just as I turn around I'm surprised to see the alpha from last night standing there. "Hey it's you! Thanks again for last night I really appreciate it." He gives me a blank look before ordering a coffee and a muffin I pulling out my wallet and putting money in the cash register before he can even reach for his wallet. "I got it. Consider it as a thank you." He gives a firm but appreciative nod and starts to head for the door. As soon as he leaves the cafe I let out a little sigh then notice the weird look Theo's giving me. "What was that about?" I look over at him and explain. "Last night when I was walking home these alphas tried to hurt me and I got away but ran into that alpha and he somehow scared all five of the other alphas off. Then apparently he followed me home because when I was locked out he gave me his jacket for me to keep warm." Theo hums. "Well he's a good looking alpha. Acts a little cold and looks harsh but he seems nice." He then looks at me with a smirk. "What's he smell like? He left before I could catch it." I blush and mumble shyly. "Vanilla. And it's really intense up close." I check the time and grimace when I see it's late. "I gotta go it's almost time for my shift at the convenience store." Theo gives me a stern look. "Not before you eat something first." I grumble but pull out a muffin and start eating it throwing the covering on the bottom away then wish Theo goodbye and quickly run off.
