A little while later I came to, smiling as I listened to Nick's heartbeat in my ear as I watched the sun set from the French doors that led out to the balcony, his hand tightening on my waist as he stretched beneath me and I lifted my head slightly, watching as he came to...

"Hi."

He blinked his eyes open... "Hey, Precious."

I smiled at him warmly and rose up to kiss him softly... "I'm hungry."

He reciprocated my smile and cupped my cheek, tangling his fingers in my hair as he deepened the kiss... "Me too."

"For food."

He chuckled and I sat up, the sheet falling, revealing my naked body to him, his eyes darkening...

"Down boy!"

He smirked and winked at me and I rose to my feet, slipping my panties back onto my body before picking up his white shirt, slipping it on and buttoning a few buttons, smiling at him as he turned onto his side, resting his hand on his head as he looked at me...

"See something you like?"

He nodded as he blatantly dragged his eyes over my body... "You're so fucking sexy in my clothes."

I smiled at him warmly as I walked over to him and leaned down, exposing my cleavage to him as I pressed my lips to his in a languid kiss, moaning against his lips as he slid his hand up under the shirt, stroking the skin of my stomach and I pulled back as his hand slid up further, his fingers brushing my breast... "Food!"

He groaned and nodded and I couldn't help but drag my eyes over his body as he climbed out of bed, naked as the day he was born...

"My eyes are up here, Precious."

I glared at him as he winked at me and watched as he grabbed his boxers and slipped them on before pulling his jeans on too, placing his hand on the small of my back as we walked out of the room...

"We were wondering if you two would ever surface."

Noah looked back at me over her shoulder... "We had a lot to discuss."

I'm sure there was a lot of talking going on. If you'd forgotten, we're not deaf."

Noah blushed... "Look, Mom, I know you're not happy about this and I'm sorry about that, I really am, but after everything that happened on the pier, I've realised that life is too short to not be happy, so if you've got a problem with this then that's on you, not me, and not Nick."

"Noah..."

"Can we go out for something to eat?"

I glanced between Noah and her Mom and nodded... "Yeah."

"Great. Let's go get dressed."

"Noah!"

"What?"

"We need to talk about this!"

"No, you need to talk, and you want me to sit there and listen, but I'm not going to. I'm happy. Noah told me what you said to him when Dad had me held hostage. He's told me everything, so I don't understand why you've got such a problem with this now."

She sighed..." Please sit down."

Noah glanced at me and I nodded.... "'ll give you two some space."

I sat down at the kitchen table as Nick left the room and raised an eyebrow at Mom... "I'm here. What did you want to talk about?"

"Noah, you and Nick..."

"What about me and Nick?"

"He's your stepbrother."

"So? There's no blood relation, so we're not breaking any laws, and we're certainly not harming anyone. You said to him the night I was missing that you'd noticed he'd made me happier, and it's the truth, he has, and I want that to continue. When I'm with him, I feel free, like nothing can touch me, and I like that. For so long, both of us have been burdened with the weight of what Dad did, and now he's dead, we can finally move on and be free, you with Will, me with Nick."

She exhaled a breath... "Nothing I say is going to change your mind, is it?"

I shook my head... "Just like when you packed us up and moved our lives halfway across the country."

She looked at me disapprovingly... "Noah..."

"You didn't expect me to fall in love. Neither did I. But I have, so there you go. I really want you to accept It, but if you can't then that's okay too."

"What is it about him? Dan was..."

"A liar and a cheat! Before you flew him out here, I was sent pictures of him cheating, with Beth."

"What?"

"He forgot to tell you that, did he?"

"I had no idea. Why didn't you say anything?"

"Because you've been so preoccupied with your new husband."

"So, you're getting back at me by hooking up with his son?"

"No! Nick and I... He saw the pictures of Dan and Beth on my phone and asked me if I wanted to get back at them. I did, so we kissed. I didn't realise how I was going to feel after that, but as much as I tried to bury the feelings, I couldn't, and neither could he."

"Okay."

"Okay what?"

"Just be aware that it'll take some getting used to."

I smiled at her warmly and nodded in understanding... "I will. I love you, Mom."

She reciprocated my smile and opened her arms and I shifted my seat closer to her, both of us hugging tightly... "I love you too, honey."
