The kid bounced up and Hobie, who had stood from the ledge when Nia pulled away to see the child, caught her in his arms, turning purple and then pink as he spoke to her.
"Taking a crap on the establishment, I salute you" Nia giggled at Hobie saluting the little girl now in his arms.
"Wait. What are you upset about?" Miles told the man "I saved those people"
"And that's the problem" Miguel stalked over to the young boy "Lyla, do the thing"
"Huh? What thing?" Lyla appeared and asked the man after she left Cara who was walking up to the man.
"What...what do you mean, 'what thing'?" Miguel snapped back "The information explaining thing"
The room turned dark as Lyla opened her arms, creating a holographic field.
"What's this?" Miles asked as a single drop of light fell in front of their faces.
"This...is everything" Miguel replied softly.
The drop touched the floor and some sort of glowing tree came up from the ground, branching out in different directions as they all stared at what was happening. Nia and Hobie stood behind everyone in the shadows, waiting to see what the older man was going to explain and do.

"The Spiderverse" Miles muttered.
"The Spiderverse? Huh, that's stupid" Miguel said "It's called the Arachno-Humanoid Poly-Multiverse" he saw the pointed looks Miles and Victoria gave him "...which sounds, stupid too, I guess"
"Hmm" Nia leaned against Hobie's side resting her head against his shoulder.
"And there noses, where the minds converge?" Miles asked, drawing the man's eyes back to him.
"They, are the canon" Miguel explained, taking a step forward when Miles got closer to one of the nodes, now standing right beside one of them "Chapters that are a part of every Spider's story, every time. Some good, and some bad. Some very bad"
Miguel lowered one of the spheres from the nodes making an image appear in front of them, a line of several Spider-Men holding onto the hands of people close to them. Cara, who had been completely quiet and out of the way until that moment, got closer to the image of herself holding her aunt while Peter looked sadly down at his own moment.
"This one" Miguel continued "Event ASM-90. A police captain close to Spider-Man dies saving a kid from falling rubble during a battle with an arch nemesis"
Another line of Spider-Men hugging the dying body of said captains appeared to their left.
"That's how the story's supposed to go" Miguel continued "The cannon events are the connections that bind out lives together. And those connections can be broken. That's why anomalies, are so dangerous" Miguel glanced at Miles "Inspector Singh's death was a canon event. You weren't suppose to be there and you weren't supposed to save him" they were surrounded by the hologram of what had happened in Mumbattan "That's why Gwen tried to stop you"
"I thought you were trying to save me?" Miles told Gwen, a betrayed look on his face.
"I was. I..." she turned her face down "I was doing both"
"And now Miles, because you changed the story" Miguel grabbed another sphere "Pavitr's dimension is unravelling. If we're lucky, we can stop it. We haven't always been lucky"
"That...that wasn't me" Miles pointed to himself "That was the Spot"
"It's what happens when you break the canon" Miguel insisted.
"How do you know?" the young boy asked the man.
"Because I broke it once" Miguel answered with a sad glint in his eyes now "I found another world where I had a family. Where I was happy. At least, a version of mine was. And that version of myself was killed" Miguel told them sadly "So i replaced him. I thought it was harmless, but I was wrong"
Nia saw how Cara brushed her hand across the larger male's back softly, trying to comfort him in some way while the hologram showed another world breaking down in glitches as a Spider-Man tried to save a woman who had fallen down but she disappeared.
Nia pressed herself closer to Hobie who put his arm up from his side, releasing Nia's hand, and wrapping it around her shoulders, nuzzling on top of her head.
"Isn't that right Peter?" Miguel asked the man "You break enough canon and you save enough captains, and we could loose everything"
The webs began to break around them, making Miles flinch and his aunt go to comfort him. Miles fell to the floor as a headache reached him.
"Spot does it" he tells said after a few moments "When does it happen?"
"In two days" Miguel answered.
"We all want to live a life we wish we had" Miguel pulled the boy back to him, placing one hand on his shoulder "Believe me, I have tried" Cara kept a hand on the male's arm just in case "And the harder I tried, the more damage I did" Miguel ignored the interruption and discretely motione for Peter to grab Victoria's arms to keep her away from Miles as they tried to convince the boy that what he was trying to do was wrong "You can't have it all kid"
And just in that moment, Miles realised he was being surrounded. Nia and Hobie tried to keep away from the others, both of their heads snapping to the sides as they watched all the different Soider-Men joining.
"We going?" Venom asked Nia after having been quiet the whole time.
"Not yet, but be ready" she whispered to him.
"Being Spider-Man is a sacrifice, that's the job" Miguel said "That's what you signed up for"
"Miles" they saw Peni come out of the large robot and Miles glanced around, seeing familiar faces in the crowd.
"What is this?" Miles asked, turning around.
"We know it's hard Miles, but it's the truth" another comically drawn Spider-Man walked forward.
"Is that why you're here? To let us down easy?" Miles asked them "You were right Gwen, you should have never come to see me"
