3RD PERSON POV

Y/N and Jennifer Jareau, known as JJ, stepped off the plane in a new state, ready to tackle a challenging case. Their colleagues and friends from the Behavioral Analysis Unit, including Emily, Spencer, Morgan, Hotch, and Penelope, were with them. Despite being highly skilled agents, Y/N and JJ had always shared a competitive and somewhat tense relationship.

As they gathered their belongings, the anger radiated from both of them. Y/N couldn't resist making a sassy comment, "Looks like we're stuck together again, JJ. Lucky me."

JJ shot back with a sarcastic tone, "Oh, don't worry. I'll do my best to make your life miserable."

Their colleagues exchanged amused glances, aware of the underlying tension and the unresolved feelings between the two agents. They often teased Y/N and JJ about their undeniable chemistry, but neither of them had acknowledged their attraction.

The situation escalated when they arrived at the hotel and discovered there had been an error with the room assignments. Y/N sighed in exasperation, "Great, just great. I guess we'll have to endure each other's company 24/7 now."

JJ rolled her eyes, "Don't flatter yourself, Y/N. I can survive a few nights without going crazy."

After a long day of investigating, Y/N decided to take a shower, hoping it would wash away some of the tension. When she emerged, her hair still slightly damp and wearing her pajamas—a t-shirt and shorts—JJ couldn't help but check her out.

Y/N smirked and teased, "Like what you see, JJ?"

JJ, caught off guard by Y/N's teasing, let her anger get the best of her. She snapped at Y/N, her words sharp and hurtful, "Please, Y/N, don't flatter yourself. There's nothing about you worth checking out."

Y/N's eyes widened and her heart sank, stung by JJ's harsh retort. It felt like a punch to the gut, and she couldn't hide the hurt that flickered across her face. She had believed that JJ might have reciprocated her feelings, but now she felt foolish for even entertaining the idea. She stayed silent, not wanting to expose her vulnerability and walked away.

JJ's heart sank as she witnessed the impact of her words. She realized that she had gone too far, allowing her own insecurities and frustrations to cloud her judgment. She wished she could take back what she had said, but it was too late. So, she stormed off to the bathroom, slamming the door behind her.

After some time, JJ finished her shower and noticed Y/N standing alone on the balcony, gazing at the cityscape. She knew she had overreacted and realized she needed to make amends. Tentatively, she approached Y/N, ready to initiate a conversation.

"Hey," JJ began cautiously, "I'm going to grab some dinner. Do you want to join me?"

Y/N cut her off, her tone defensive, "No, thanks. I'm not hungry."

JJ sensed the deeper meaning behind Y/N's words and her guarded tone. She understood that Y/N was hurt by her earlier outburst. Determined to make things right, JJ decided to give Y/N some space and headed off to get dinner for herself.

On her way, JJ unexpectedly encountered Emily, who had been observing the tension between Y/N and JJ. Emily offered a reassuring smile, leaving the possibility open for further developments.

As JJ walked alongside Emily, she couldn't help but wonder if this was her chance to repair the damage she had done.
