AARA :
Carrying the files and laptop I walked to Sid's room, breathing heavily.
He was discussing something with Tanvi when I entered the room.
As soon as he saw me, he was on his feet, worry lines on his forehead.
"You could have told Sakshi to bring them Minnie!" Sid rushed to me, taking the things from my hands.
"It's fine. These need your signatures too." I said taking deep breaths gesturing to the files he took.
He walked next to me, holding the chair from not moving for me to sit.
Few files were opened and spread on the table. One caught my attention. Current employment situation. Seems like they discussing about the issue at hand.
"It's been more than an year since we hired new employees Tanvi. What the hell is HR department doing?" I asked her,.
"We need fresh minds in the production department. I want minimum of 5 people to be hired."
"I think there are vacancies in that department?" I asked turning to Sid.
"Yes. Even if there's no vaccancy, promote the senior members to other departments." Sid said passing me a glass of water.
Damn! He always knows if I need something.
"We need young people to work on new products. It's not possible to keep up with the competition, if we don't know the present generation's taste." He said to Tanvi.
"Actually I heard that there's a problem with that HR manager. He is asking for favours it seems." Tanvi said a few minutes later.
Seeing our frowned faces she continued.
"You know with women.." she dragged.
"What the fuck! Why didn't we get any information regarding that till now?" Sid asked fuming.
"Simple Sid, fear. Who's going to come and complain to you?" She said shrugging.
"It's not easy to meet you. And no higher ranked employees will complain on each other."
"The complaints has to reach you through them. And no one is brave enough to do that."
"Two months back an employee was fired from her job because she went against her immediate boss 'cause he asked for sexual favours."
"An acquaintance told me this when we were talking randomly." She said sighing.
We were too shocked to react. The more the company grow the more hard it becomes to look after employees problems.
But we never had to face this issue till now.
"We never had this problem Tanvi. Why now?!" I asked worried.
"The seniors were retired Aara. These are recently promoted. I feel like you should take some action." She said.
"Forget about the new hirings, few of the women employees want to quit because of this nuisance." She said sighing.
Sid rubbed his face taking deep breaths as if control his anger.
"Too much is going on, that we couldn't concentrate on these imp matters. It was our responsibility to look after these issues." He said sighing.
"Anyways, observe that hr keenly and dismiss him at the first opportunity. You will follow up with this and he has to loose his job in one week." He said sternly.
"Give his conduct as bad. He shouldn't be hired any where."
"Once he was removed from this company, make sure that everyone knows what happens if anyone misbehaves in the future." He said clenching his jaws.
"Calm down. We will look into this." I said rubbing his hand.
"If anyone as much as hear a whisper of rumor about misbehaving or misusing their power for whatever the cause that may be, they should be monitored closely and concerned action should be taken on them." I said getting up.
"You will look into these matters. You can take the decision on what to do with them. The punishment should be severe according to their mistakes."
"Damn!" Tanvi said shaking her head chuckling.
"I heard that you guys were ruthless when it comes to those who does the wrong things. I never thought I would witness that." She said making us laugh lightly.
"Do you want to stay for lunch?" I asked as we all walked out of the room.
"No Aara. I have lot of works to finish of. Thanks though." She said with a smile, hugging me before leaving.
SID :
After we finished our lunch, Minnie was going to our room humming slowly, immersed in her own world.
Going to her slowly I hugged her from the back surprising her.
"Siddu! You scared me!" She said putting a hand on her heart.
Chuckling I picked her up. She immediately wrapped her hands around my neck giggling, as I started walking with her in my arms.
"Someone is in good mood" she said smiling.
"Ofcourse love! If you're happy, then I am happy."
"I don't remember saying that I am happy." She said tapping a finger on her chin as if thinking.
"Aren't you happy?!" I asked with fake hurt.
She still pretended to think making me scowl.
"I am never this happy in my life Siddu. You make me happy. I will be happy with you wherever we are. Ok?" She said pinching my cheeks looking at me lovingly.
Smiling I kissed her nose diverting her from looking at her surroundings, entering into a room next to ours.
"Surprise love" I said putting her down.
"Wow!" She gasped.
"Siddu! This is amazing!" She said, her face beaming looking around the kids room that we readied when she was in hospital.
"When did you do this?"
"Painting was done when you were in hospital." I said going to her.
She was looking at the crib, running a hand on it. It's the same crib she saw when she went to shopping with Naina and Tanvi.
"All the items were moved while you're sleeping"
"Do you like it?"
"I love it Siddu." She said with a wide smile.
"Can we go shopping pls?" She asked with a cute smile.
"Ah no precious. Not happening." I said making her pout.
"No ma. I am not going to budge for your cute face this time." I said sternly making her scowl.
Taking her hand I guided her to the recliner that's near the window.
Helping her sit, I kneeled infront of her and took her hands into mine.
"It's too strenuous love. If we go to the mall, I will have a mini heart attack before we complete the shopping." I said softly.
"You buy whatever the hell you want through online." I said with a finality.
"Fine." She said scowling.
