For a few hours, the sun had set and given way to the night's darkness contrasted by the stars' light and the moon that watched sovereignly.Chase was in a very precarious emotional state. He had not dined and had avoided being in the company of his friends so as not to show that he was suffering. Skye was very angry with Chase and didn't look him in the face for the rest of the day. Max tried to make his girlfriend reason, but she did not listen to him.
Chase was in his pup house and was crying in his sleep. He couldn't stop thinking that the love between him and Skye was never real.
This thought made him suffer but at the same time it was becoming more and more a liberation, a sign that his love was dying out. But Chase wasn't just suffering, he was also angry. He had a huge anger towards Skye for breaking his heart and had an uncontrollable anger towards Max for destroying his love life with Skye.
For now the suffering was greater than the anger, which was affecting the German Shepherd's mind who could not think clearly.
Chase jumped up breathing very quickly, for him to have nightmares had become a habit but that night would not be the same. Chase refused to sleep for fear of nightmares, and even though he was sleepy he decided to stand and flip through a few pages of his diary.
In his pup house, Chase kept a typewriter that had belonged to Ryder's father. With that he could write pages that he then inserted into the most intimate object he had. His diary was not only filled with written pages but also with photos.
Leafing through his diary, Chase found very important moments between him and Skye. This did not help and fueled his pain. Many tears fell on those pages, wetting the black ink of the letters. Chase doesn't make it anymore and closes the diary, but another object made him suffer even more.
As he was putting his journal back down, Chase revisited an old framed photo of him and Skye on the day of the friendship party. He had blushed a lot that day when he was next to Skye. But Chase unfortunately knew those days were over.
Despair struck Chase in his broken heart and between the tears that flowed incessantly from his eyes began to pack his things.
He took every object dear to him and took it out of his kennel, then turned his house into his cruiser and loaded his personal belongings as quietly as possible. What he was about to do was wrong but it was necessary to stop his pain.
Chase got into his vehicle and stopped to watch the snow gently fall in the middle of the night. Clouds covered the sky but left some space for the stars shining far away. The cold was king, the German Shepherd began to suffer from the cold and for this reason he turned on the engine and left to go away from the lookout.
He didn't even look back to look at the lookout for the last time, he only felt sorry for his master and his friends, especially Marshall. He apologized to them for what he was doing but felt like a burden to the team with his feelings preventing them from living a normal life.
Chase got out of Adventure Bay as fast as he could, but he knew he couldn't run his vehicle because of the snow falling on the road and the ice that had formed due to the low temperatures. He could see her breathing coming out of his nose and coming into contact with the cold air forming smoke for a few seconds.
He didn't know exactly where to go but maybe going beyond Jake mountain would have been a good idea, maybe returning to Ryder's old mountain cabin would have been a perfect place. There, peace reigned supreme and could start a new life.
But Chase couldn't spend too much time thinking about his new life. The road was snowy and Chase could lose control of the vehicle in an instant, so he had to keep his eyes fixed on the road.
Along the way Chase didn't even encounter a car, this made him feel lonely, and being alone in the middle of the night while the snow fell incessantly frightened him.Despite this, Chase continued to drive until when he was near Jake Mountain he had to stop. A tree had fallen on the road and if he wanted to pass he had two options, tow it away with his hook or go around it.
The German Shepherd used the torch of his pup pack to illuminate the area. The woods around him were cold and dark. Chase walked through the woods looking for a way to get to the other side without having to pull the tree away. As he walked, however, he found a mark engraved with many trees, which was made up of a heart and two initials.
Intrigued Chase approached and illuminated the mysterious writing, at first he did not understand what it meant but when he heard the faint smell of Skye coming from the tree a light bulb lit up. The engraving represented the initials of Skye and Max with a heart around them.
This hurt Chase but instead of suffering anger he began to come out. He tried to control her but couldn't. A fury like him had never seen before come out of his depths.
Chase's irises narrowed and turned black. Chase's claws and teeth grew. His coat became darker and wrinkled. Finally he felt an enormous force flow them into his muscles. By now he had lost his mind, his mind was driven by an unstoppable rage.
Chase then began attacking any object in his vicinity, attacked trees by peeling off their bark and branches, dug holes in the ground, and attacked innocent animals leaving them to bleed to death. That forest soon began to become the blood-stained hell that covered the icy snow.
The German Shepherd then returned to his vehicle and began throwing many objects into the air including the photo with Skye. After unleashing his anger on his objects Chase began to run into the woods, his clothes tore and his collar with his pup tag came off and broke as Chase ran on it unknowingly.
The animals ran away from the Angry Dog afraid of what he could do to him, even the wolves were afraid of him and gave it to their legs.
After a few hours, Chase began to feel weak, tired and cold. His claws and teeth returned to normal, his fur returned to that of a puppy of his age, and his strength disappeared.
Chase stopped running feeling very weak and sleepy not even having the strength to stand.
His head was exploding, shortly after he fainted as the brain gave the order to blackout the body. He fell to the ground feeling the cold snow on his fur before fainting.A few hours later the sun was beginning to rise, it was the dawn of a new day. Chase woke up covered in snow, cold, weak, and confused by what had happened yesterday. When he managed to free himself from the snow above him he saw that the forest had been destroyed by something and then he remembered, as if by instinct he looked at his paws and wondered what he had done, afraid of himself.
But before he could do anything the light went out.
