A friendship between a man and a woman is often mislabeled as something more than just platonic. Maybe because some relationships starts from there. They tend to develop feelings as their connection began to deepen.

Some are lucky to have their feelings reciprocated and some are just not.

On the contrary, some friends could turn into foes. It might went well at first but it can change especially in times of crisis. As hatred, envy, and fury fuel up; a once great camaraderie becomes a bittersweet rivalry. The real challenge is that you will never know when or who it will be.

Sabrielle's request made me think about this. The latter would be more favorable to happen between me and him.

Only if, I obey her by letting him be my friend.

"Ciel, what do you think about it?" Sab clasped both of her hands while anticipating for my answer.

I shrugged and continued sipping on my iced caramel macchiato. He shifted uncomfortably on his seat when our gaze met. I heard him murmuring something as he looked down on his food.

But if you two have misunderstanding, you better settle this now."

My lips pursued while I'm waiting for him to say sorry. Sab cleared her throat loudly to gain our attention.

We both ignored her. He kept staring as if urging me to speak.

Once again, I felt a strange feeling in my stomach. I know to myself that I did not do anything wrong.

As a matter of fact, mabait pa ang naging pakikitungo ko sa kanya kahit mapilit siya. But there's only one way to get this over with: obey Sab.

'Fine then.'

My arms are crossed as I shifted to face him. I sighed exasperatedly and apologized with a hint of sarcasm.

"I'm sorry for being rude and pushy earlier. I thought it was the right thing to do," his voice sounded sincere, walang halong sarkasmo.

I was taken a back by his response. I nodded unconsciously while trying to find malice in his apology but I found none.

My bad thoughts flew off the window when he smiled at me, his dimple showed up.

He looks genuine and it rendered me speechless.

"We're already on our way home mommy. I'm with Sabrielle," inayos ko ang pagkakalagay ng earpod sa aking tainga. I instinctively wear my seatbealt while waiting for Mommy's response.

The line is open but it sounds like she's doing something.

"Is that so? Tell her to stay for dinner! I'm cooking," the clatter of kitchenwares is heard in the background.

"I will po."

"Thanks honey. Take care, both of you." Mommy dropped the call when I heard someone's giggles. It was my baby brother for sure.
