It was in the middle of the night, 3 a.m. to be precise. This was when Amanda came barrelling through Grey's bedroom.
Because of the shock, Grey woke up immediately.
"Come with me," Amanda said to her son with a worried expression as she led him to the attic
Although, Grey was still tired. He didn't protest, he just followed his mother.
"As part of the things that you should know," Amanda said as she raised her hands
"You will now be persecuted,"
"Your father has amassed a large number of zealots, who believe him to be a God,"
"His followers will try everything they can to hurt you,"
"You must learn to protect yourself,"
"And unfortunately you must learn the hard way," Amanda said as she chanted
Icaeus
Instantly Grey was lifted into the air.
Amanda smiled softly but with a flick of her wrist.
Grey was thrust back into the wall behind him.
"Ahhh," Grey called out in pain
"What was that for?
"Especially in the early hours of the morning,"
Amanda smiled but with a tint of sadness
"I'm sorry baby,"
"This is the only way you will learn,"
"I've given you grimoires to study,"
"But I also think that you need a practical example to take this seriously,"
Incendia
Amanda chanted, causing flames to appear where Grey sat.
If the boy hadn't ducked immediately, he would have been incinerated.
"Lecutio," Amanda chanted causing Grey to be electrocuted with a high voltage of electricity
Grey screamed from the pain.
"You have to learn to fear your father," Amanda said
"I am sorry baby but this is the only way,"
Grey started running for the door.
