Milo grabbed his backpack and made his way to school in his car. There was something that felt better, it was probably because he had stood up for himself and told Rosalie outright to stop whatever game she was playing, but it might also be because Jasper had now agreed to be his friend.
Anita was happy to see Milo in a better mood and talked about how her little brothers made her watch films with her all night long and now she didn't have her homework to hand in.
He listened happily, wishing partially that he had his own sibling with him, though knew that it was a little different under the circumstances.
Homeroom was quiet, there was a sickness going around so it was easy to talk without being interrupted. Milo didn't sit next to Emmett and hoped the teacher would catch on that it would be a reoccurring thing unless problems with the Cullens were fixed.

Lessons passed fast and he found himself walking into the history class again. Jasper was sat in his chair, legs open, manspreading, and Milo could've been sure his heart skipped a beat when he saw it.
He sat down confidently anyway, they had a cover lesson, their teacher was sick too, and it was book work, of course it was.
"Good morning friend,"

Milo smiled slightly, "Good morning friend," He said the last word as if it was clarifying to Jasper that he didn't change his mind about him overnight.

It helped to settle Jasper's mind a lot. After his and Rosalie's talk, he went off to the forest to think clearly and to feel nobody else's emotions but his.
He decided, Milo would be his friend, and maybe more if the time came, because at the end of the day, he was a human and if anything, it would be easier to control him, not the other way round.
"Tell me about yourself Milo," Jasper told, dipping his head so it looked like he was working.

And so Milo did. He told the blonde about how he came to Forks, receiving a smirk that he liked the look of, then told Jasper all about Bella. It wasn't jealousy, but as he talked about his sister, Jasper's face dropped the smile.
Aside from that, he was interested heavily in Milo's life. Everything seemed fascinating.
"C'mon, your turn now Jasper," Milo smiled, nudging his arm slightly.

It was his turn now, so quickly, his mind thought up of different lies he could come up with if needed before speaking. He told Milo that he was adopted and spoke very little about that. As far as Milo knew, Jasper and Rosalie used to live in Texas and only he developed the accent, Rosalie didn't like it so she stuck with her normal one.
It didn't make much sense to Milo but he didn't press the subject. He just listened, he listened to Jasper as he listed his hobbies, reading, driving and walking through the woods.
Such innocent likings for somebody so dangerous.
Jasper spoke freely, he felt like Milo enjoyed his company so he said a lot, it felt nice to have somebody like the words that he spoke.
Eventually, the bell rang, signalling lunch but both boys didn't want to move, their eyes were light as they shared the space in the history classroom.

"Would you still like to hang out? Are you free this weekend?" Jasper wondered, hoping nothing would come up on his behalf to ruin it again.

Milo smiled slightly, "As long as you don't bail on me Jasp,"
He ignored the way the male winced slightly as he got out of his seat, though the thought of the blonde being in any distress caused him to want to help. It was his fault, he ignored you, Milo tried telling himself, trying to unjustify his thoughts.
They walked in silence to the canteen, enjoying the silent company.
"I'll text you?" Jasper offered, before he opened the main door.

"Yes please," Milo smiled so sweetly that Jasper felt his heart skipped a beat, as if that were possible.
That feeling never left as he walked his way over to his family who noticed his appearence with a smile. Milo smiled at him, he had done so in the past before but this time felt different, Milo seemed different.
He glanced over again, looking at the human boy sit down with a human girl. She said something, making his head throw back as a loud laugh climbed out of his throat. He looked happy, but Jasper wanted to be the reason for his happiness.
