Meanwhile back with the girls:

Guilia's eyes widened in surprise as she listened intently to the child's words. She sat up and expressed her gratitude towards them for providing her with valuable information. The children grinned and scampered off to play, leaving Poppy and Natty to join Giulia.

They were amused by the clothes they had just purchased and were discussing them when they noticed Giulia's bewilderment. Natty saw that looks, and they went over to her. Giulia then explained that some children who had revealed the name of the village they were currently in had accidentally jostled her.

Guilia also revealed that they were on the outskirts of Scotland. Furthermore, she mentioned that the year was 1880, which surprised Poppy as she exclaimed, "We are that far back?!"

"Yes... and since I heard you both speak of clothing; I hope we have whatever gallons for a small place to stay so we have a bed and maybe enough for food..." Guilia turned her head as she listened, taking a deep breath in and exhaling before answering.

She's trying to be practical and plan for their immediate needs. If she remembered correctly, she needed to find the baker in the area she knew. She just needed to understand their location to go from there.

"We only know how we got here. It's a matter of how to get back." Guilia spoke, her voice tinged with concern, as Poppy looked around at their surroundings.

The two friends had found themselves in an unfamiliar place and were now struggling to find their way back home.

"Well, let's go and ask someone where we can stay for a small price," Poppy suggested, her eyes scanning the area for any signs of help.

Guilia hesitated momentarily, her left hand moving to rest on her right arm. She knew more than she was letting on, but she didn't want to risk causing any tension between her and her friends by revealing everything she knew.

Despite her reservations, Guilia knew that they needed to act fast if they wanted to get out of this situation. If they continued to be so open with their predicament, they could end up stuck there for days on end.

So, she took a deep breath and spoke up, "Of course, let's begin by identifying a street name," Guilia spoke with unwavering confidence.

However, her companions appeared intrigued by her sudden decision. Natty, noticing the perplexed expressions on their faces, offered a comforting touch on Guilia's shoulder as they set off on their walk.

"Is this area familiar to you?" Poppy inquired, but Guilia's head hung low as she uttered softly,

"I'd rather not discuss it, Poppy, if that's alright." Walking alongside them, Poppy picked up on the hesitancy in Guilia's voice and proceeded with caution.

With a sigh, Guilia couldn't help but walk, having her hand out against the walls of the buildings, but Natty placed her hand on Guilia's cloak and guided her, and Poppy moved to the other side of Guilia.

They quietly walked. natty and Poppy looked around, seeing many people interacting and selling goods in what looked to be a small market of mostly food. "Now, about the gallons..." Guilia spoke up.

"You two didn't tell me how much you got worth of clothing." Guilia exclaimed.

"We didn't spend much," Poppy explained. "We just got some clothing, so maybe we can blend in since we stick out like a sore thumb..." Natty commented.

"Hmmm, I guess you're right, but we just need to be careful... we just need to..." Guilia accidentally bumped into someone as the girls reacted, pulling Guilia back to them.

"I apologize. I did not intend to..." Guilia's voice trailed off as she panicked, her heart racing with worry. She had accidentally bumped into a man on the street, and her fear of judgment weighed heavily on her.

"It's perfectly alright, young lady. These things happen." The man's voice was kind and reassuring, yet when Guilia heard the man's voice, she immediately froze and lowered her face to hide.

As they stood there, the man's eyes fell upon their attire, and he let out a gentle chuckle. "Ah, I see you three are dressed up for a certain school, huh?" Guilia's face flushed with shame, feeling like she had been caught.

Poppy, ever the confident one, took the lead in explaining their situation to the man. "We seemed to have lost our way, sir, and we hoped to find a place to stay and some food. We don't know how long we'll be here." Guilia, despite this, she remained tense, keeping her face covered and feeling as though she might faint from the stress of the situation.

"Is she alright?" the man asked as the girls nodded. "She just isn't well and can't see. She is blind, so she's deeply sorry for bumping into you," "No need for apologies. If you like, I can provide a place for you three and some food and proper clothing. If you so wish to take the offer?" he happily smiled at the girls. Giulia, however, appeared uneasy and spoke with a muffled voice, "I'm sorry, I don't think..."

Poppy agreed, "I believe that would be a fantastic idea." Natty looked at Poppy as she spoke. "We don't know this man Poppy..." Natty says, a little shocked at the sudden acceptance that Poppy had in her answer as Guilia took a breath and spoke. "He is the man that runs this village. He looks out for those in this village and ensures everyone is happy..." Guilia's voice was stern yet straight to the point, still keeping her head down.

The man turned to Giulia and asked, "Do I know you from somewhere?" Giulia lowered her head even more

The man turned to Giulia and asked, "Do I know you from somewhere?" Giulia lowered her head even more. Natty quickly intervened. "We appreciate your offer, sir, but we cannot work for free. May we ask what's the catch is?"

The man chuckled, "As your friend mentioned, I am responsible for the welfare of all people here. However, the local baker requires helpers if you're looking for paid work. As for accommodations, I can offer you a place to sleep on Author Street, just a short distance away."

As the girls passed the man, Guilia kept her head down, trying to avoid being recognized. The man, on the other hand, couldn't help but feel a faint sense of familiarity as he watched her pass by.

His curiosity was piqued. He furrowed his brow and pondered momentarily, trying to recall where he might have seen her before. However, unable to place her face, he ultimately dismissed the thought and continued on with his day.
