Chapter 2: The Midnight Channel

*3rd pov*

*04/13 Wed. Early Morning*

Yu was walking to school when Yosuke bikes past Yu fast and crashed into a trash can. "S-Someone..." Yosuke called out. 'Maybe I should help him...' Yu thought and went to help Yosuke. "Whew, you saved me. Thanks! Umm... Oh yeah, that's right. You're that transfer student, Yu Narukami. I'm Yosuke Hanamura. Nice to meet ya." Yosuke introduce himself. "Are you okay?" Yu questions. "Oh yeah, yeah, I'm fine." Yosuke said. 'Yosuke seems to be all right...' Yu thought.

"Say, did you hear about the incident from yesterday? They found that announcer lady hanging from an antenna! You think it was some kinda warning? There's no way something that weird could've been an accident." Yosuke said. "You might be right." Yu said. "Dangling a dead body over a roof like that... That's just messed up. Then again, it's pretty messed up to kill someone in the first place." Yosuke said. "Of course, it's mess up Yosuke." (Y/n) said out of nowhere while she's next to Yu, startling both boys. "Anyways, boys we're late." (Y/n) informed, grabbing Yosuke and Yu.

*Morning, inside the classroom*

"Be quite, you idiots! You guys ARE in high school, aren't you!? Can't you shut up during class? Don't you have any common sense? First of all, my job is to waste my precious time teaching you assholes philosophy! And since I'm so nice... I'll straighten up your rotten attitudes while I'm at it! Aren't you honored!? And I'll be going especially hard on any of you morons that're curious about the murder! Got it!? Now, get your books out!" King Moron shouted.

Yu listened to the lecture intently... Yu's Knowledge has increased.

*After School*

Yosuke stretch and went to Yu as Yu talks with (Y/n). "So, you getting used to this place?" Yosuke asks. "Yeah." Yu said. "Wow, that was fast. There isn't much to do here compared to the big city, but there is that certain... something you can't get anywhere else. the air's clean, the  food's great... Oh, you know about the local delicacy? It's grilled steak, man! Like that's anything special, huh?" Yosuke said. "Yosuke, don't mention grilled steak. Chie might hear you." (Y/n) warn Yosuke. "It's fine. (Y/n) and I know a place where you can get it cheap. Wanna come? You helped me out this morning, so it's on me." Yosuke said until Chie walk towards Yosuke.

"What about me, huh? No apologies? My "Trial of the Dragon." Chie said. "See Yosuke, you summoned her." (Y/n) said, resting her head on Yu's desk. "Urgh... You always come around when I'm talking about food..." Yosuke said. "Mostly when it comes to meat, same as me." (Y/n) states. (Ignore the last part if you don't eat meat.) "How about it, Yukiko? Don't you think he should treat us, too?" Chie asks Yukiko as she gets up. "I'll pass... I don't want to gain any more weight. I need to help out at the inn today anyway." Yukiko informs them. "Wow, Yukiko-san! You started training to take over the business?" Yukiko questions. "Guys, quit it. It's Yukiko's decision if she wants to run it or not." (Y/n) said, lifting her head.

"Thanks (Y/n) and it's not like that! I'm just helping out when it gets busy. Well, I should be on my way." With that Yukiko left. "Oh well. We should get going too." Chie said. "Huh? Do I seriously have to treat three people...?" Yosuke said. "Well I can pay as well." (Y/n) said as Yosuke grabs her hands. "Thank you (Y/n)! You're the only one who cares." (Y/n) just chuckles.

*Junes, Food court*

"THIS is the cheap place you were talking about...? They don't have grilled steak here." Chie exclaims in disappointment. "Yeah, well, once you hopped on the freeloader train, I had to change my plans." Yosuke said. "Still, that's no reason to take us to your place." Chie said. "Dude, this isn't my place or anything." Yosuke said as Yu looked confused. "Oh, right. He hasn't told you yet, huh?" (Y/n) said, eating a Takoyaki. "I moved here form another city about six months back. This location just opened up, and my dad was assigned to manage it. So our entire family came out here." Yosuke grabs his drink. "Here, this is to welcome you to town." Yu and (Y/n) grab their drinks. "Satonaka, yours is on me too." Then Chie grabs hers'. "Yeah, I know." All of them lift their drinks and take a sip.
