POV: Glasie
SETTING: home dimension

They had won some kind of award. No one cared, we had better things to do now. Alex insisted on showing up for the stupid party at some pretentious country club. We're mysterious, never there, sort of like Daft Punk after the 90s. The only way Strawberry and I could get in was pretending to date the guys. Let's just say that Strawberry Pop Tart is finally a thing. The entire deciding process was incredibly awkward. We all knew it wasn't real and only for just one party in home dimension, but the guys had to look cool. Of course Alex wanted to fake date me. I not so very politely declined.

When we finally arrived, we realized we had to make something up about why we hadn't existed for the past year. Strawberry and I were slightly fangirling because we realized all of our alt rock faves would be there. Vampire Weekend, The Strokes, Weezer, The Killers, Phoenix, Arctic Monkeys, Passion Pit... All of our faves. I was slightly disappointed that the Black Keys wouldn't be here.

"What's exactly going on here?" Strawberry asked once we made it past security at the tall white gates.

"Fire. Lots of fire." Alex responded.

"That's gonna be just a nice fun time for everyone." I hissed.

"Can't you control fire better here?"

"I don't know."

"Stay chill."

Staying chill was my entire goal for tonight.

"Bonfire." Bob whispered.

"What?!"

"It's pretty big."

"Okay." I nodded too many times.

Nick realized how uncomfortable I was and ran over to the nearest cooler. He dashed over to me and dumped a chunk of ice into my hands.

"I can't tell if this is a stay chill pun or if you're genuinely concerned." I laughed, still holding the ice chunk.

"It's a mix."

I smiled.

It continued like this for a while. I was fine as long as I was discreetly holding something cold, usually supplied by one of the guys dashing to the nearest cooler and grabbing ice like a little kid.

And then it got dark out. Honestly, there should be a rule about how much you can have on fire in one place. Someone decided to do sky lanterns. Yeah, smart. They didn't know. Anyway, I was really uncomfortable and actually about to ask Alex, the leader of this entire adventure, if we could leave.
