iii. new beginning

Percy's POV
Nico gave me a little introduction. The place was nice, it just gave me the creeps.

"We have a guest." Nico said pulling my hand to the front door.

The door opened to reveal the same primordial goddess I had seen earlier. It was Nyx.

"Lady Nyx." Nico bowed, while she was eyeing me continuously.

"Rise. Perseus Jackson, I've heard a lot about you, you know." Nyx said.

I froze when she mentioned my full name. I hated it. And what did she mean when she said that she has heard a lot about me?

"You are a skillful warrior," Nyx complimented me. "If you could do a favor for me, it would be wonderful"

I nodded my head. What could a primordial goddess want from me?

"What is the favor, Lady Nyx?" I asked, curiously.

She hesitated before answering, "Become my child."

Nico raised his eyebrow and asked, "Why do you want him to be you're child, my lady?"

"Like I said, he is a skillful warrior and he has managed to save Olympus twice. He has also survived my brother's pit, Tartarus. He is courageous and talented. I would like for him to be my child." Nyx praised me.

To be honest, I didn't expect it. I didn't expect her to praise me. Not even Poseidon had ever done that.

"Yes," I replied. "Yes. I would like to become you're child."

I told the primordial goddess. She nodded in delight.

She placed her hands on my forehead and started chanting something. My body started to glow.

I guess I couldn't escape the fact that I'm a literal glowstick now.

Her white eyes shone so bright, I could've sworn it could blind me. Something appeared behind my head and my back felt weird. Almost..feathery?

After her chant ended, I looked back to see that I had dark blue wings and the moon (in a crescent shape) was behind my head.

Nyx cupped my cheeks, "My son." She smiled at me. The smile was genuine.

I smiled back at her and replied, "Mother."

"Now, that has happened, there will be a new start. A new beginning." Nico exclaimed.

My eyes shone with happiness. A new start? That would be nice.

Then, I saw Bianca and Luke entering the 'house'. They seemed confused.

"Lady Nyx?" Bianca called the my mother's name. "What are you doing to Percy?"

"This is my new child." Nyx told the two.

"Child?" Luke said, surprise written all over his face.

"Yes, that's what I said. I believe I have spoken in a perfectly understanding manner, haven't I?" Nyx said.

Luke nodded in fear. Who wouldn't? Nyx was the most terrifying primordial out there.

She gave me a quick but soft glance and then left.

Bianca looked shocked but quickly turned back to normal. So did Luke.

Luke then looked at me and smirked, "Child of the most terrifying primordial? Damn Percy."

I just chuckled in response.

"How come you are always so powerful?" Luke said.

"What Luke said is true. Percy holds quite a lot of power, judging that he has been blessed by quite a few gods and primordials as well." Bianca told Nico, who just looked at me with love.

"Has anyone seen Lee or Mike?" Luke asked.

Nico shook his head no and so did Bianca.

Bianca then smiled at me, "This is your new family, Perce. We are your new family. It's a bit chaotic but you'll get used t-"

She was cut off by a loud bang to which I jumped. Nico just sighed, clearly irritated.

"Ethan, Castor, this is the third time this week!" Nico yelled, annoyed.

"Sorry Nicholas!" The two boys exclaimed.

"Like I said, chaotic but you'll get used to it." Bianca finished, chuckling at her younger brother's rotten mood.

"They're even worse than Travis and Connor." Luke told me, seeing the confused look on my face.

"C'mon, darling. Let's go." Nico pulled my hand and led me to a room which I assumed was his own.

"This is our room." Nico told me.

I smiled at him. I couldn't wait to start living here.

"Now darling, before you get comfortable here let me tell you something." He said sitting on the bed and gesturing me to sit beside him.

I went to sit and he continued on, "The gods. They are our first targets."

I froze at the word 'target'. What did he mean by that?

"You know how Kronos wanted to take over the world? And so did Gaea?" He said, to which I nodded.

I remember those two wars. I hated them so much. A lot of people died in those two wars. Including Michael, Luke, Selina and a whole lot more demigods.

"Well," He said, pausing a bit. He seemed nervous. "My father, Tartarus, and the other dark primordials wish to do the same. They also want to take over the world."

I froze once again. My whole world started spinning. My arms started to shake.

"W-what?" I said. Another war, it was the last thing I wanted to deal with.

"Don't worry Percy darling, as long as I'm here you won't get hurt." Nico assured me.

But that wasn't the thing I was afraid of.

"Nico," I started. "What about my friends? The ones who I care about."

"Don't worry darling. If you want I'll take their souls from the underworld. They'll be more recruits. And plus, we are immortal. All of us." Nico explained calmly.

He knew my fatal flaw was personal loyalty. Even if I did betray the gods, it would take a lot for me to betray my friends.

I smiled at him.

"Thank you, Nico. Thank you for everything. Thank you for caring about me and for bringing me here. Away from that hell." I told him, tears forming in my eyes.

It was true. I no longer found camp comforting. Almost everyone ther was fake and fauned over Andrè or whatever his name was. It no longer was fun, no longer was my escape from home.

"You don't have to thank me for anything, amore mio¹. I have to thank you for coming into my life. Grazie per essere appena entrato nella mia vita. L'hai reso molto migliore². And I did what I wanted. And I wanted you to be with me." He told me. His every word filled with love and affection.

He then placed a small kiss on my lips and called it a day.

Soon we fell asleep, cuddled to each other. Everything was perfect now that we were in each other's arms.
